2026.05.13 Kenny "Whitwashing" How He Could Fix His Own Mistakes for $$$

As one would expect, there is some more back & forth between industry folks and Ken "Whit" Whitman. So far my favorite thing has been that someone coined a new word to describe Ken's omission of his own name off of the contributions for 4 Pillar Games: "Whitwashing"

On James Lowder's Facebook page we've seen Kenny returning to an old trope: offering to take (anybody's) to fix/solve a problem he created. OK, "trope" might be a bit too strong of a word, but the first thing that came to mind is when Kenny wanted a couple hundred bucks for a hard drive to cough up his KoDT:LAS footage....IIRC he was legally obligated (as in part of his contract, as referenced by the D-Team) to turn over that footage to begin with.

On a related note, he has offered to work on getting those files if he gets a new contract (i.e.....consideration) for doing so.

Then there is the time he said he'd do an interview for $500.

So.....maybe trope is an appropriate word!.....

...anyway on to this particular example of said trope:

"My idea was to put two button buttons one if somebody would volunteer to write about somebody

The second one was to ask for a donation of $100 and $95 of that would go to pay somebody to write them

The only reason it’s not $100 is there’s a 3% surcharge using a credit card

I’d be willing to make the damn thing nonprofit where everyone has to see where the money went. I’m OK with.

It’s something that would have to be done for love which is the thing I did with the AI.

Now the reason that it’s $100, which is probably gonna be far below word count for most of you, is that if we don’t keep it inexpensive than only the popular people are gonna be written about. And how is that fair?"

There it is! "Pay me some money to fix the problem I created" I like the touch where he's form yet another organization to "see where money went". Sounds just like having a "money guy: to monitor spending for his various Kickstarters......see how well that went?

The Whitwashing is that he "wrote" the original articles using AI (again without using his name!) and has claimed that if he was to do the articles manually they would cost a metric shit-ton of money. This is laughable for a couple of reasons. 1st is thinking he's a desirable source of knowledge about the gaming industry. We literally have historians, people trained to do appropriate research, working on these things already. A quick search of Amazon (or your favorite bookseller) can net you professional recollections. 

I don't know about you, but I don't want to watch an AI video or read a banal overview of "Loe Zacchii", for example. Even with Kenny's panache for bad grammar, absent punctuation, and atrocious spelling, if he put in a honest effort, the end results might have been not only respectful, but entertaining and of some value. In the commentary on his Most Influential Tabletop Game Icons page, he has an outline how he could possibly use AI to assist an honest effort. Instead he's trading effort for quantity and accuracy, but for the low, low price of $100 he can be persuaded to fix the entries....

Interesting how fixing the problem will cost $100 but according to him, doing it correctly the 1st time would cost $70 (6 to 8 hours of labor for $10/hr). I'm using his numbers.....but of course Kenny likes the odd math....if the AI does the research it'd take him 6-8 hours to write, but if he has to do everything "from scratch" writing would only take 4 hours?

"If I was to give you an honest answer. I've done 600 of these and a matter of two months.. let's assume that I wanted to do each of these by hand and let's assume that my time spent doing it is $10 an hour. What are we talking here 24,000 $28,000. I ain't nobody gonna pay for that. That's why I'm just making nice little AI things that don't say anything bad about nobody 🙂....Research, my three AI’s scan over 300 websites and a matter of 45 minutes to 60 minutes

If I had to do that, I would say that would would say that that would take me 40 hours

And then they actually write it from scratch another good four hours

So 44 hours per person

2026.02.28 NAD's Main Author/Editor Outed and Our Tenkar's Tavern Post Was Removed Upon BS Request

Hello Tavern Patrons, long time no read. Christopher Stogdill (Frugal GM) here with a bit of a quick thanks and shout out to one of our communities biggest KickScammers I know of: Ken Whitman, or should I honor his attempted re-brand of Whit Whitman?

For more than a decade now I've been documenting every bit of Kenny's fuckery over at Not Another Dime! (for Ken Whitman). Now my name was overtly attached to that blog, but the only people, until today, that didn't know I was over there either didn't care, hadn't read my 2015 guests posts here at the Tavern, or were Ken "Whit" Whitman.

Seriously, it wasn't too effing hard to figure out:

• 

• I literally mentioned a "not another dime" campaign in an early post, just before forming the blog.
• I reserved his D20 Entertainment LLC domain from the state of Kentucky AFTER looking for his company from all 50 Secretary of State offices.
• I followed up with the hotel, in person, where Ken had allegedly reserved a room for his Kickstarter movies premieres at GenCon. Why? Because my wife had given him an extra $300 specifically for the after-party. 
• I referenced one of my personal blogs, with a review, on NAD.
• Getting information direct from LinkeIn lets a user know who's looked at their profile.

I'll be 110% honest that I was beyond pissed with Ken's bullshit during the KoDT:LAS Kickstarter era. He had fucked over so, so many of my friends. The lies upon lies upon lies....it got old quick. NAD was really intended to be as neutral as possible and simply document everything possible. I feel like my neutrality was, at best, questionable at the onset, but after a decade of uncovering all this....for lack of a better term...shit, I/we (I do have help.....) have difficulty even pretending to be neutral on this singular blog topic.

I think I've been quite clear that 1) NAD is for educational purposes, 2) We're no longer neutral, 3) NAD is a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character, and 4) Don't believe us, follow the links you can and make your own decision.

Thing is, getting information is part of the problem....

You can still find some information regarding Ken's Rapid POD days, and if you talk to some of the old TSR folks you might get some details of Ken's actions. It is difficult to do and really, not many people are going to spend a lot of time doing a "deep dive" for information that you could use as a primary source. Ken has spent a LOT of effort to cover up his tracks. Delete, delete, attack, diminish, seek pity (remember the CTE excuses).....but the biggest single enabling factor for Ken, now Whit, to be able to begin his scams (my personal, legally protected opinion) anew: Time.

People have moved out of the hobby and new people have moved in. There are more gamers now than there have been in the past, and Kickstarter is still a thing.

Not Another Dime! (for Ken Whitman) exists to document as much as possible what Ken "Whit" Whitman has tried to get away with. Is it an attempt to "hound him" so he cannot make a living, of course not, but so he cannot scam people again, most definitely. The "people" I/we initially cared about was specifically the gaming community.

There is a LOT of history with this man and so far it looks like instead of working on his shortcomings and making good on past promises to the gaming community he's just rebranded himself with a new name and found himself a new community. Now it looks like maybe he's trying yet another community, but time will tell.

I'll admit that after 10 years of all this I'm not even upset at Kenny any more, well not really. Not Another Dime! (for Ken Whitman) is more of a pain these days, but it's a necessary pain, so I post when I get a tip (part of the whole "we" on NAD) and I make it a point to periodically poke about to see what's new.

Why out myself now?

Last night I poked around a bit and the deets I really wanted were on LinkedIn. I didn't want to create a fake account or ask someone else to log in on my behalf, so I'm pretty sure that's how Kenny figured it out. This afternoon I got an email from NAD's blog contact form:

I have to assume this came from Ken. I cannot prove it easily and I don't care enough to even try. Many times in the past Ken has threatened people with lawsuits and calls to the "FBI". Kind of comical actually, but I also have to assume that this message was intended to be a chilling effect on NAD.

THIS is why I'm saying "Thank You" to Mr. Whitman. By trying to intimidate me by letting me know that you know who I am you're actually freeing me. I don't have to try and discreetly hunt for crumbs of information to investigate. I don't have to take extra steps to insulate myself from my work. I just don't have to care about a whole extra level of bullshit anymore. Anyone who wants to share can now do so more readily....

It isn't hard to find me, never was, but since you've started this route of discovery, feel free to send the FBI my way......at least I know that everything I've ever posted is within my 1st Amendment rights and not libel or slander......since the truth is the best defense against either and I've been keeping receipts.

Remarks: Now while "we" don't agree that Tenkar's Tavern should've taken this "offending" post down, it makes sense seeing that Kenny currently has a lawsuit against Erik Tenkar in Kentucky right now. It's his blog anyway, so our opinion matters not. Now as to some very specific points....

1) Defamation: the act of communicating false statements about a person that injure the reputation of that person. We're going to circle around back to this.

2) Partially true. There hasn't been any allegation of criminal wrong-doing, though that isn't that much of a leap of logic. Using Kenny's logic though, there is nothing wrong with these comments because the author has "never been charged with, indicted for, or convicted of any crime in any state or federal court." Kenny has used this excuse of a lack of criminal charges to excuse behavior that would most likely be remedied in civil courts. By this rationale, there can be no defamation because none of our authors have been charged in criminal court. We do know that Ken has been reported to the authorities before, but we do not know the outcome except that the complainant was directed to civil court......

3) Probably true. A "reasonable reader" would probably come to this conclusion, but to be fair, a "reasonable reader" would also confuse civil vs. criminal action and would assume that at some point there probably would be criminal charges, but that's our opinion/speculation. The purpose of NAD is, and has always been "Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character." It is LITERALLY written at the top of every page, along with "Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only."

4) Technically true. Ken "Whit" Whitman was served with a Civil Suit in 2018 (details here) and more recently end of 2024 (details here). We can only hope that state and/or federal charges eventually appear.

5) Again, partially true. That is a factual statement, but only on it's own, not in relation to the original post. First off, there is a lot more to a defamation case than simply a false statement, and we don't even think we have met the threshold for any false statements, much less the remaining requirements for defamation under Kentucky law. Since we'll go into the law in our next point, let's stick to the facts, flavored with opinion, from the original post at the Tavern:

Ken Whitman had a series of Kickstarters that were fully funded, but not fulfilled (at least by Kenny). KoDT:LAS, Traveller, C&C, Deck Dice, Pencil Dice, RPG Pencil Dice. These Kickstarters overlapped and none have been fulfilled as promised. Ken admits, multiple times, to co-mingling Kickstarter funds ("Actually, yeah, all of it was put into the company fund.", and "Making Tv pilots and movies is my dream.   So I have funneled in extra monies from pencil dice to keep editing & producing.") Ken ran these specific six Kickstarters under d20 Entertainment, which was not an *actual* company he owned. Ken sold product as part of the project funding and lied about cost and production of said product. There's more, but this is enough.

So we have six unfulfilled Kickstarters that were definitely "stacked" upon each other, with some even sharing fundraising timelines, being run by a non-existent "company" and where the money was co-mingled by an individual. So not only is d20 Entertainment a lie, which means that Kenneth E. Whitman Jr. is personally (from a real and legal sense) responsible for everything associated with these Kickstarters, but we have evidence of him making specific lies about costs and production.

one who perpetrates a scam : a person who commits or participates in a fraudulent scheme or operation

Notice how the definition doesn't actually mention anything about civil or criminal liability? No reference to having to be charged, much less convicted. Now clearly "Kickscammer" is not a real word, but a manufactured portmanteau combining "Kickstarter" and "Scammer". Since we've posted receipts here in this post showing the clear elements of a scam related to Kickstarter(s)......looks like a truthful statement!

6) Yet again, partially true. Technically Kenny has provided factual statements regarding Kentucky Revised Statute 411.051, but so not applicable to the matter at hand.

 

411.051 Libel actions against newspaper, magazine, or periodical -- Demand for

and publication of correction -- Effect.

(1) In any action for damages for the publication of a defamatory statement in a

newspaper, magazine, or periodical, the defendant shall be liable for actual damages

sustained by plaintiff. The defendant may plead the publication of a correction in

mitigation of damages. Punitive damages may be recovered only if the plaintiff

shall allege and prove publication with legal malice and that the newspaper,

magazine, or periodical failed to make conspicuous and timely publication of a

correction after receiving a sufficient demand for correction.

(2) A "sufficient demand for correction" is a demand for correction which is in writing;

which is signed by the plaintiff or his duly-authorized attorney or agent; which

specifies the statement or statements claimed to be false and defamatory, states

wherein they are false, and sets forth the facts; and which is delivered to the

defendant prior to the commencement of the action.

(3) A "correction" is either:

(a) The publication of an acknowledgment that the statement or statements

specified as false and defamatory in the plaintiff's demand for correction are

erroneous; or

(b) The publication, in a fair and impartial manner as a matter of law, of the

plaintiff's statement of the facts (as set forth in his demand for correction) or a

fair summary thereof, exclusive of any portions thereof which are defamatory

of another, obscene, or otherwise improper for publication.

If the demand for correction has specified two (2) or more statements as false and

defamatory, the correction may deal with some of such statements pursuant to (a)

above and with other of such statements pursuant to (b) above.

(4) A "conspicuous publication" in a newspaper is a publication which is printed in

substantially as conspicuous a manner as the statement or statements specified as

false and defamatory in the demand for correction.

(5) A "timely publication" in a daily newspaper is a publication within ten (10) business

days after the day on which a sufficient demand for correction is received by the

defendant. A "timely publication" in a newspaper, magazine, or periodical other

than a daily newspaper is a publication in or prior to the next regular issue which is

published not less than ten (10) business days after the day on which a sufficient

demand for correction is received by the defendant.

• We've already shown that our commentary in the original post, and here, is truthful and therefor not defamatory by definition.
• Kenny has to prove damages. If there are no damages there is no civil defamation. For example, we could post that Kenny has the word "Buffoon" tattooed across his forehead. It would be a patently false statement (or we assume it would be), but if doesn't cause demonstrable damages.....not civil defamation. 
• KS 411.501 also requires "legal malice" which generally means that the comments were done willfully on purpose, without justification, and with the knowledge they will cause injury. The comments were done on purpose, but were justified and there is no knowledge that they will cause injury. Making it easier to inform people so they do not risk their resources on a future Kickstarter scam (Kenny has stated he can start a new Kickstarter "at any time"), is not "injury".

Final Comments: We've always considered Ken "Whit" Whitman to be a con-man, a fraudster, a scammer. Ok, technically not correct since we've known the guy for at least 20 years. This opinion was formed over the last 11 years or so. Not Another Dime (for Ken Whitman) was created a decade or so ago strictly for documentation, but it clearly has a heavy dose of opinion in the form of commentary. We literally reference this at the top of every page because we utterly failed to remain neutral. Because of this we've stated many times to feel free to assume we're heavily biased (we are) liars (we're not) and follow the links, where you can, and make your own opinions. Please.....please...don't take our word for anything. Browse through the links still remaining on the "Ken Sez" page. Tenkar's Tavern picked up the same notion that Ken "Whit" Whitman is involved in the Unforgiven Unmortal Kickstarter project. The math is pretty simple and Kenny did insert his fictional company into the trailer......

One thing that the Tavern remarked on were some words shared by someone that inquired, through Kickstarter, about Ken Whitman's involvement in this project. The thing is, this response by Robert Costner tries to diminish Ken Whitman's involvement in the project, but we'd like to ask since when does someone who is just "merely part of the creative team along with several dozen other talented contractors" warrant 3% of a "teaser trailer" to display their fictional company name, albeit at maybe a 85% font size to the Producer's company? Were any other of the "several dozen" contractors named?

Nope?

Well Tenkar's Tavern got permission to forward the response they referenced so we could record it for posterity. We tend to agree it has a bit of an "eff off" vibe, but read it as you may. We don't have the initial inquiry, so there could be an aspect we are unaware of....to be fair.

"Thank you for reaching out to me. Our company has contracts with many independent companies, actors, and crew members, and we do run background checks on all of our contractors. Mr. Whitman has no legal or criminal activities on his record. During past meetings, he seems very respectful to all that attend. I do know of his past Kickstarter failures and assure you that Mr. Whitman is not involved with our company's business practices and is merely part of the creative team along with several dozen other talented contractors. Once again, thank you for your concern, and have a wonderful day."

2018.02.12 Blogger Contact Regarding Ken "Whit" Whitman and Little Monster Games & Comics

Last night we received an email claiming our main-man Ken "Whit" Whitman is using his new gig at Little Monster Games & Comics to screw people out of money.

Now, to be fair to Ken "Whit" Whitman, we cannot verify the claims made within this email, so you have to take this as hearsay on our part. There are only two reasons we even feel comfortable posting this inflammatory email, which you should definitely assume is false:
     1) The pattern established in the short email is consistent with previous behavior of Ken "Whit" Whitman.
     2) We would think that if there is any truth to this email then there would be others willing to corroborate by telling us of similar interactions with Ken "Whit" Whitman and Little Monster Games & Comics.

Until such time though we should all take the following email as hearsay, because it is:

"I also got ripped off by Ken. I got suckered during one of his magic sales/auctions. Bought once for 20, those cards were perfect. Ordered another set for 25, got half of them. One card I didn't get I bought for 5 dollars, after I paid it spiked up to 15, it still hasn't arrived. I was told it shipped so I spent another 22.50. This was November 2017. I still have not received my cards. When I contacted him once, he said they were shipped. The second time he told me he still had them. Finally he threatened to resell them. It isn't as much as some, but it still shows he is ripping people off."

2017.08.14 NAD is Well Aware of Ken "Whit" Whitman's Self-Imposed August 1st Deadline(s)

We know that Ken "Whit" Whitman's re-scheduled (a couple of times now) release date for his varied Kickstarter projects  was August 1st, and we've let that date come and go without commentary.

Since we really didn't expect anything from our  raison d'etre by the 31st, much less the 1st, we thought it best to just wait it out until September 1st.

We haven't decided to let up on ol' Kenny......just didn't see a lot of value in posting the obvious on the 1st of August.

We would like to remind folks that while we don't mind commentary regarding Ken "Whit" Whitman's "illustrious" dealings, would would prefer to not receive comments that consist of calling ol' Kenny names. At this point they really don't serve any real use.

By all means, if Ken "Whit" Whitman has done you wrong, whether through Kickstarter or what we'd consider a shady, if not illicit/immoral/illegal business dealing, you have a right to be upset......but instead of venting here, do something productive, like filing a complaint with the appropriate Attorney General's office.

2017.02.07 Important Wall of Facebook Text Regarding Ken "Whit" Whitman's "Work" in Atlanta

We appreciate being forwarded an email using our online contact form regarding our hero Ken "Whit" Whitman's dealing with The Original Bossdiva RhondaK:

To all the cast and crew! As you know I have been in touch with many of you (ALL BY EMAIL) to keep you updated on my plans with my film projects. I have ABSOLUTELY No intention of abandoning it. Once we changed cast (some) and due to the on and off set issues with KEN WHITMAN I elected to halt the making of this project until such time my health, cast, crew and financial standpoint would allow me to move forward.

I honestly wanted to begin back in February after my court hearings for my herniated disc with my employer but due to extreme considerations, legal advise and friendly advice I elected to wait and begin again in April.

Most of the cast do not know me personally however there are a few people whom are cast and crew whom know me and have worked with me for a long time and know that I DO WHAT I SAY I WILL DO. Its very challenging to launch a project of this magnitude on your own finances and have the issues that I have encountered with this project but still willing to make it happen. In terms of monies, many I have paid and some I have not due to my injury I had to re-evaluate my finances and reach out to each of you to inform you of my situation so that you do not feel abandoned. Without going into any further details of my personal financial situations, know that I am in court this month after awaiting two continuations and will be satisfying my financial obligations with all whom have not been compensated. A month of so ago I posted a message to the fact without going into too much detail because some people on my page are not a part of this project.

It has come to my attention today, that KEN WHITMAN posted on ACC to ask MY CAST if they have no t been compensated to speak with him. LET ME MAKE MYSELF VERY CLEAR! I FIRED KEN AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF OBTAINING A FELONY ARREST WARRANT FOR THEFT BY CONVERSION/DECEPTION AGAINST MR. WHITMAN. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IT IS NOT HIS AUTHORITY NOR PLACE TO BE ASKING ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT MY FILM INCLUDING ANYONE OWED! YOU SHOULD NOT BE SPEAKING WITH HIM FOR ANY REASON REGARDING MY PROJECT AND IF YOU ARE, RESPECTFULLY REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THIS PAGE. The entire time I have worked on this project I have tried to be open, honest and fair. However working on set with Mr. Whitman proved to be a disaster EVERY time I stepped foot on to work with him. Almost every cast member complained about his belligerency and unprofessionalism. For the sake of the cast I continued to deal with it often times really biting my tongue for which I have not had to do working on the set with any professional crew mate in the past 10 years I have worked in film. I could not and did not ignore the voices of those who reached out to me. I was contacted by Union workers and people all over the world to include Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee and AUSTRALIA due to being warned that Mr. Whitman is a scam artist and has taken monies from people for film but never did the work or gave the work back. This is the situation I am in.

Upon meeting Ken and all the way through August I asked for my footage. I have an Editor whom has been with me through the filming of my reality show (we are in season 4), therefore I NEVER asked Ken to edit the film because I am pleased with Nick's work. However, from the beginning I asked Ken to complete a trailer so that I can introduce at least what we had to the world BEFORE VOTING A PRESIDENT. Regardless as to what your candidate choice was, I wrote a film about the 287G immigration program as I am very much so grounded in the Hispanic community and wanted to send a message to the world about the Dreamers and at minimum children whom were brought to the US and those whom deserve a fighting chance at MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Ken deliberately failed me on even starting the trailer. And yes he was PAID in full! Although Mr. Whitman was paid in full EVERY TIME we came to set it was something he needed. Due to his constant financial mishaps and or irresponsibility, I was giving him money all the dam time. I have cancelled checks from my bank, credit card payments and uncounted amounts of cash. Ken was even coming to my job (three times) I gave him money!

So to say the least I am livid and upset. What hurts me more is that although I knew (WAY AFTER the fact) he was in tons of trouble with people around the globe, I tried to be a friend. He has burned so many bridges its simply pathetic! I am pissed off!!!!! I have a page @TheoriginalBossDivaRhondaK where several victims reached out to me and I did not initially respond, but when he refused to give me back my footage, I took legal steps to bring him down as well as answer those messages and boy I opened a HUGE CAN of nasty! The amounts of monies at this point is close to a quarter million dollars. And yes for the record the FEDS are now actively pursuing my warrant application as well as investigating the claims in effort to incarcerate this man for a long time. Its never in my intention to hurt anybody, that's not my spirit however I was back and forth on moving forward only because I cared about this jerk and did not want to see him face more hardship but again NOTHING WILL STOP me now and I will be successful in obtaining the warrant!

At least three of your reached out to me to let me know that Ken also stole monies from you and did not complete the work. Its his history. Now, I too know that people talk shit and say things that are often times not true and post it on social media. I have had this happen at least twice in my life. However, nothing I am saying here is fabricated. I am willing and have given a police report as well as a sworn statement about this guy to the detectives working with case. For any of you whom has been on set with me and him at the same time, further confirmation is in his ridiculous bedside manners on set.

In closing, I know that some of you are friends with Ken BEFORE you met me and understand your loyalty to him. However, since this is now a legal matter, if you choose to continue to be in support of anything he is doing, including being a part of the ACC I ask that we part ways. If there is still a balance owed to you by me or my company BossDivaz Productionz, know that on the life of my children you will be paid. Before I move forward with this project I will pay out all 'owed and will be speaking with a few people to verify their characters and will also be replacing two roles. All monies this film will cost to complete will be managed by my Attorneys and will be kept in an escrow account so assure proper timely remittance of payments to cast.

I appreciate the loyalty of those who contacted me about Ken's post. For those of you whom are also speaking with me about the monies that Ken took and did not do the work or did not release your work, please contact me via DM so that I provide you with the details of the Gwinnett country Sgt and Detectives working with me on this case. 2016.02.06 Ken "Whit" Whitman Frequently Seems to Have Hard Drive "Issues"

Not going to be much of a post since this has already been covered by Tenkar's Tavern, but there is a bit of info not actually recorded there that probably needs to be saved for posterity, which is what we do here at Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman).

"At this point Sufflatus Lorem and Jolly Blackburn this has already gone to local federal and state authorities. I tried my best to work it out but I refuse to be a

victim when I was a true friend. I've been contacted by several local victims of Mr. Whitman's deceit and am no longer willing to work with him. I released my hard drives to him and requested them back from him with verification that the work is present. I will not make such an exchange with an outside person and forfeit the opportunity to verify confirmation of the footage. Its likely its not even on the drive. I can't risk it. I owe several actors, have paid several, put many honest hours in this project and thousands of dollars in financial obligations to vendors for the use of their facilities. Im not going to walk away this time. With respect to my business partner/son Sean D Donley he will not be involved nor answer until we all stand before a Gwinnett Judge. I've suggested that Mr. Whitman release the work he has for others including the Kick starter victims but to no avail. 2015.10.18 The Miniatures Page Post

Sorry folks, but this isn't new news here, just a documentation post.

While we were looking for something specific, we came across this forum post on The Miniatures Page: "In an interesting twist to the D20 Entertainment sales scandals, apparently Ken Whitman has sold a bunch of the Traveller Resin Spaceships to NobleKnightGames (after getting individuals to pay for these first, of course, and then allegedly not delivering the products to them), who are now selling them on eBay, at twice the price of what you used to be able to "purchase" them for directly from D20:

Of course, as you may have read, D20 Entertainment has an inability to deliver them to customers, ever, in many cases.

People that purchased these, and that have been waiting more than a year for them, in some cases, have now been sold to a third party, who is now marketing them on eBay.

Wow, Ken has hit on a goldmine – selling things twice, for double the revenue, but only delivering them once!!!

Simply brilliant!!!

In my opinion, this guy is one of the worst, serial con-artists ever to be associated with Traveller, and Marc Miller.

It seems that he's allegedly been pulling stunts like this for up to 20 years.

Some people have even worked for him on designing/writing rules, etc., and he's stiffed them as well. One guy, allegedly twice, and then Ken had the gaul to go and ask the guy for assistance a third time, without ever paying him as promised for his first two efforts. The third time the writer asked about payment for his first two projects, and then Ken never bothered him again. Needless to say I guess, that allegedly, he never received any compensation from Ken for his efforts.

I've been waiting very patiently for my three-vessel, Traveller Spaceship set, that Ken listed as "now shipping" on his website, since mid-June. He also again mentioned on CotI that they were shipping in August as well.

Does Ken Whitman and D20 Entertainment have no shame?

I shall be filing my complaint with the Kentucky Attorney General's Office on Monday morning.

I'll also be contacting eBay and NobleKnight about this issue as well.

Have I mentioned Ken's new direct sales "Sol Bound Traveller" funding project?

He's seeking funds for that too, which appears to me to be just a rehash of his failed Spinward Traveller TV Kickstarter (one of six Kickstarter projects that Ken has mismanaged in the last few years, but that has allegedly generated almost $180,000 USD in sales). It's being billed as a "web-series", instead of a TV show.

Don't fall for what in my personal opinion is just another of Ken's scams, which he's having to promote directly on D20, since allegedly they won't let him list any more with them, due to all his failures."

From what we recall, Noble Knight Games definitely took the high road on this one and managed to get in line with everyone else Ken "Whit" Whitman has screwed over.

We wanted to post this because the second auction was for 5 "limited edition" painted Beowulf resin ships. In an earlier post about Ken "Whit" Whitman's resin being sold at a different retailer, he claimed "Perhaps , all the unpainted resin models have shipped, and all the painted ones are defects or damaged?" The thing is there were 12 of the painted ships shown in the picture......12, as in 12% of the entire "limited edition" line. Add the 5 from the Noble Knight auctions, and we are at 17%. It is also important to note that the Noble Knight auctions ships were listed as "mint".

Now it is entirely possible that Ken "Whit" Whitman had 33 ships set aside for his webstore sales, which would mean we've accounted for 1/2 of the "limited edition" Beowulfs. Looking at the Spinward Treveller Kickstarter we can count another 27 for 77% of the "limited edition" ships.

If we get bored we might try to track down the last 23 ships.....

2016.02.18 Some Good News on the Legal Front

I can only hope that is some small way this blog can be a resource for the Washington State Attorney General's office. Why it takes Washington State to get some traction on Ken "Whit" Whitman's Kickstarter Scams and not Kentucky is beyond me.

2014.12.02 Ken Whitman Sells a LOT of Resin!

Wow...just when you think you couldn't go any deeper down the rabbit hole, you end up falling a few more feet yards miles.

Now I knew that Ken Whitman was making bank off of his Kickstarter projects by using those projects as advertising for questionable sales outside of the minimal financial oversight that isn't much more than totals being listed for all to see.....but DAAAYUM, the boy has been busy.

Now I wasn't aware of his personal crowd-financed "Sol Bound Travellar" series, even though I probably had heard of it and got it confused with the Spinward Traveller project. I think when he didn't get enough suckers traction with Sol Bound he repackaged for the Kickstarter crowd.

Now I assumed he was selling some resin miniatures because of some of his Facebook posts (which I don't have copies of), but I had no fricken clue just how much resin he was pushing.

Only one (1) of these models is listed as a backer reward (and only one individual model) and the prices are...consistent enough (one is actually listed as higher priced for backers!), so I'm not going to count the "$100" model tossed in to that one backer.

By my math, Ken Whitman has sold 378 models for an income of $37,800 and assuming he doesn't just make extra, because he's never done that......and just sells through the remaining 222 ships he's looking at a grand total of $60,000!

Let's take a look here....we currently have $38, 627 in KoDT books, $186, 729 from Kickstarter, and now $60,000 from the models for a possible total of $285,356. Now we have to remember the books have some expenses a;ready taken out and the models aren't all sold AND more than likely he's sold more and produced less than the figures would indicate.

I'm assuming he's produced less because there are a lot of unhappy purchasers of pretty much everything.....

The Travellar forums aren't too keen on Ken Whitman's resin sales delivery:

Now this last comment is interesting because I have it from good sources that when Ken Whitman visited the KenzerCo D-Team he got to see some of Jolly Blackburn's resin castings and inquired heavily about them......I think he saw a way to try and make a few extra dollars by cutting out the middlemen in production. Why leave manufacturing to the experts when there is a few more dollars to be made? I think this will come up again......

For the record, and to be fair to Ken Whitman, this is just a rumor. I've reached out to Jolly Blackburn to inquire about this particular tidbit of information/rumor and I haven't gotten so much as a "no comment". I think it probably doesn't help that KenzerCo hasn't gotten their KoDT:LAS footage yet, so I don't expect any corroboration on this anytime soon.

BUT WAIT!!!! THERE"S MORE!!!
Thanks to the power of the internet we can easily see that Ken Whitman's Travellar rabbit-hole goes down much deeper than what you can see on his website today. You see there are two lessons I really don't think Ken Whitman has learned yet, the first being that just because you don't link directly to a page from your other pages (like he does with his current resin sales). The second is that old websites can often be accessed well after you've done away with them.

This archive of  this old page shows he sold a bunch of these ships as a complete bundle....again with a maximum number of 100. According to the pictures below, he has only 25 sets left, which would mean he has sold 75.....

....now wait a second.....if he has sold 75, that would mean he has another $75,000?! But wouldn't

these sales have to be subtracted from the current available sales since these are the same ships. Obviously he can't have 100 limited edition ships in one set and then have the individual ships from that set on sale with a limited release of 100 each.....can he?

Well this should be straight-forward to check. If Ken Whitman has sold 75 sets of ships then he would have to have no more than 25 of each model left to sell individually, right?

Damn, I guess I got that one wrong.....

So at this point I'm not even sure what are lies and what is the truth, so I have to take the simplest explanation which is whatever gets Ken Whitman more money. In this case it would be that Ken Whitman double-sold (at least) some exclusive models for an extra $75K. This brings our new rough-math to $360,356.

2015.08.10 Narrowing Down the Many Addresses of Ken Whitman

Through some twist of dumb luck I've managed to find that all-around good-guy has put one of his homes up for rent on Air BnB. This has been a great help on narrowing down where Ken Whitman lives, or used to live.

Now I won't begrudge a guy for trying to earn some extra dough, assuming this is a legal use of his property, and only mention its here because it is at least some small measure of proof that one of his listed addresses is a real location.

That kind of thing is important for process servers and for filing complaints with the FTC and the Kentucky Attorney General's Office.

At no time have I done anything illegal or even sneaky to obtain these addresses. It is all information Ken Whitman put online himself, either on Facebook or his website. Two of the unique addresses are publicly listed information from whois.

All I've done is record the information and do a single Google search on each. I've already spent ten times the effort typing out this post than it did to uncover and corroborate this one address.

2015.08.09 Filing a Federal Trade (FTC) Complaint

If you believe you've been scammed by Ken Whitman you might feel the need to take some action. The most appropriate actions, depending on how much you felt you were taken for, might be to hire a lawyer and or file some complaints.

I'm not a legal expert in any sense of the means, although I will claim to understand what theft, fraud, etc. means from a business perspective. If you need advice, don't come here for it...seek the appropriate professional help.

Now if you've determined you have been scammed and would like to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), here are the steps you might wish to follow:

1st, head on over to the FTC Complaint Assistant. They'll walk you through the process and it is pretty painless. Personally I used the "Scams & Rip-Offs" then "NO MATCH FOUND".

Just follow the prompts and feed in the information requested and you'll be done relatively quick.

The online forms will ask you for Ken Whitman's contact details. I've found several addresses for Ken Whitman lying around, and I used the address listed on the d20 Entertainment "Contact Us" page, but you might also try the address he has on Facebook for "Ken Whitman & Associates".

Something tells me the addresses are bogus, but I know the phone number at least goes to a voice mail with Ken Whitman on it (it is the same number from the email about selling the Pencil Dice obligations)

I've found at least two more addresses in addition to these two, courtesy of whois.com. I figure one of the addresses he uses for registering his domain has to be correct, right? With so many different addresses floating about you'd think he was trying to evade process servers or bill collectors.....

While you are at it you might want to also file a complaint with the Kentucky Attorney General. The Kentucky AG's office uses two different forms, depending on the county of offense, but you know what? I'll toss you a bone and let you use a modified copy of the complaint I filed. I took their document and turned it into a Adobe Reader compatible PDF form and filled out all of Ken Whitman's information. That should make it easier for you to type out, print off, and send to the Kentucky AG.

Apparently the address listed for the Admin is bogus/old. Google is showing that the Doe Run Hotel is permanently closed. I highly suspect that the Registrant information is Ken Whitman's actual address, or at least one of his addresses, because it matched up with an Air BnB listing in the same area.
