The last couple of days here have been interesting, to say the least. Our hero of the year managed to check in twice with comments, both of which I think were attempts to....heck, I don't even have a clue what is rattling around in Ken Whitman's big head. Definitely not any scruples.......
The first is a jab if there ever was one:
"Whit Whitman is a good name. Just saying!"
The second one.....well, this one was a doozy. Ken Whitman tried to defend having a game store sell a bunch of his "limited edition" resin:
"Perhaps , all the unpainted resin models have shipped, and all the painted ones are defects or damaged?"
You don't have to go far to find out that plenty of folks never got their ships, and some who did got broken and incomplete ships......
For whatever reason, Ken Whitman, or "Whit Whitman" as he's trying to call himself now, thinks that keeping on the move will give him enough breathing room to take potshots at those he duped. While I cannot substantiate these rumors (so assume I'm 110% wrong here) I've heard Ken, er...Whit Whitman was living out of a truck in order to evade process servers and the law. Bedding down in Atlanta might not have been good enough and allegedly Whit Whitman is heading off to Las Vegas.
At this point I'm not certain we can take anything Ken/Whit Whitman says as truthful, but this last bit at least came from him:
"Atlanta has been fun, but after Thanksgiving, I am headed to Vegas baby! I will let you know about my awesome new plans once I am settled."
Of course I only think this might be some subterfuge because there were no spelling errors in the post.....

Originally limited to those interactions within the Role-Playing-Game industry, we've been forced to "branch out" in order to keep the pubic properly informed.

A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose
Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. Haha I love the comment there at the end about the spelling errors..my thoughts exactly.
ReplyDeleteAnd subterfuge..what a great word.
ReplyDeleteI thought he was going to give us an update when he was "settled" in Atlanta-Duluth. I am confused.
ReplyDeleteI see I have spy's taking shots of my post. And I only had that up for 6 hrs. Hmmm. Well, guess I won't be posting anymore personal info. Look out for the great Facebook perge.
ReplyDeleteIts "purge" shitwit, but please, dont learn how to spell...your inability to do so entertains the hell out of me.
DeleteIs your move to Vegas a statement that your Atlanta acting career has failed?
ReplyDeleteAlso - how do you have the money to do these moves and not the money to send people refunds?
What happened to all that money you made in gaming, Ken? What happened to that 6 million dollar hotel?

Is your move to Vegas a statement that your Atlanta acting career has failed?
DeleteNo. Actually the opposite.
Also - how do you have the money to do these moves and not the money to send people refunds?
Because I work as an actor for a month, and gas is $2 a gallon.
What happened to all that money you made in gaming, Ken?
I produced over 50 products and employed over 20 people. Contrary to belief, it cost money to make things happen.
What happened to that 6 million dollar hotel?
Its was my ex's family and I am no longer part of that.
Any other questions I can answer.
Yeah, where's my $1600 you owe me for the Spinward CGI?
Deleteyou're no fun. Have a safe trip.
ReplyDeleteActually Fun is one of the things I am. See you at GAMA Trade Show.
DeleteWasting $177,095 from the backers of six Kickstarters does not make you 'fun'.
DeleteIf it 'cost money to make things happen', Ken, what did you make happen with that money?
Other than a bunch of Kickstarter backers who have been ripped off?
oh - and what name will you be going by then? Just so I know it's you when i see you. lol
DeleteOh, please, Ken. Go to GTS. That'll be amazing. Please, someone make sure to record it.
DeletePlease, Ken, think of your backers. We supported you.
ReplyDeleteI am the CGI artist that created 3 scenes of the beowulf for Spinward, orbiting a blue planet, flying into a green planet and a turret fire scene...Ken and I have a witten agreement for a specific amount that he has owed me for 5 months, $1,600 to be more specific. He has completely ignored me. I tried to work out a payment plan with him and he still continues to ignore paying me. My point - if he doesnt care to pay the very people who he hires to help him create a project, he sure as hell doesn't care about the backers. Hes a pathetic failure whos playing a lead role in a sad, self delusional existence. His designs are shit, his film production is shit. His acting is shit. The problem is - instead of sucking it up and admitting to himself he just doesnt have what it takes to make it in the entertainment industry, he's on one final self destructive path of crime and failure - a delusional "acting career" lol. He thinks its really special even though ANYONE can get a part in a student film or be an extra in a show...but keep on bragging about it big shot shitwi lolol, you entertain the hell out of me. Its fucking sad really, but I rather enjoy the idea of him slowly self destructing...I dont have to do anything in retaliation for not getting my payment just yet. He's destroying himself for me. Its like a reality show of his on failure hes starring in for all of us, for all the people he's wronged to enjoy and I have a very good idea of how its going to end.
DeleteRichard, I am about to post on the kickstarters. I think about you guys evetyday. The one thing you don't need is hot air, I want to give you progress. Which is going slowly. But is going
DeleteKen doesn't think of anybody but himself.

DeleteHey, Ken! I've got another question! Wheres the update for the Kickstarters?
DeleteIt's been four days, and nothing from you.
What's your excuse *this* time?
Ken since you have ample time to take swipes at your critics here it would be nice if you gave your backers an update on the status of your kickstarter project. Namely why you haven't taken advantage of the free offer ZOE made seven weeks ago to edit/correct the raw footage for you. Would cost you nothing and backed would at least be able to watch the episodes. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/d20e/kodt-live-action-series/comments
ReplyDeleteKen, The most simple way I could put this is that you have companies now willing to help your backers (not you) but definitely your backers. What no one can understand is why you cannot even take advantage of the free help. Send the KODT footage (everything you have) to ZOE. Noble Knight Games has offered openly on their social media pages to pay to ship the Traveller ships out to backers for you (eating the cost of product) and I offered to pay for the shipping to get those ships out to backers (along with covering the postage on the KODT books that didn't ship to the international backers). I'm guessing at this point that if you just became completely honest and said you are beyond your ability to do what you promised to do and threw yourself on the mercies of those that might try to help you then maybe ZOE could even be willing to put together the Spinward Traveller video if you also sent them all that raw footage. It won't solve your issue with Kevin Adams Productions but it will take care of your backers.
ReplyDeleteIf you really think about the backers every day ... then it makes no sense that you are not acting on the offers of help. The fact that you have not done that argues volumes against statements that you are thinking about the backers every day. Heck .. maybe if you were willing to post the full accounting on the pencil dice project to someone like Kevin Cook (a spreadsheet download of all the backers from both projects and all your purchase order details for where you were ordering the pencils from ... maybe something is possible there ... not sure there is since my understanding is that no money raised from those two KickStarters was actually spent on them ... but who knows .... maybe something could happen if you just were willing to present all the details).
