2018.11.03 Found Another One: 211 Games & Comics LLC

I was looking at a YouTube video and started peeping at the comments...for reasons*...and came across this little gem regarding Ken Whitman: "Him and his woman are in North Carolina under a different name. Check 211 games and comics on Facebook." Of course I couldn't find squat about 211 games and comic in North Carolina, but I did find one in Kentucky.

Interesting that Kenny, under the guise of Little Monster Entertainment, is promoting this store....with LLC right there in its name

....you know I wonder.....

Now 2018 was a bit more than a minute ago and it's kind of hard to remember all the comic book store drama going on back then. If only there was a record to look back on....

2018.04.17 Ken "Whit" Whitman is on the Run! Here we have a Facebook post from Kenny stating he is "no longer manager/owner of Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC", which means he was, or at least was claiming to be, "manager/owner" of said store.

2018.04.22 Ken "Whit" Whitman Sells His Business? After Ken allegedly sells his business and after we report that the business supposedly buying Kenny's company wasn't a registered legal entity.....then it becomes one. Before anyone wants to state it's a bureaucratic issue, paperwork not getting approved, whatever, it is important to note that it is an online/electronic process and I do not think there was a manned Secretary of State office on Sunday afternoon....

2018.04.24 Whit gets a kiss goodbye as he Slips and Slides his night away. On what is presumably Kenny's last comic book show, Ken is rather chummy with someone who appears to be his new girlfriend: Jess Hunter. That name will undoubtedly become more significant.

2018.04.25 We're Calling BS Over Here at NAD The store "new owner" introduces herself: Jess Hunter. You may know her by current name: Mrs. Ken Whitman (Note: I'm pointing out the current relationship, she may or may not have changed her name). Of course, her post states she bought the store from Jim Sears....no mention of Kenny. The previous post did state that Kenny's last comic show was to be "Tuesday night", which would have been the night before. So Kenny's out of the comic book game.....right?

2018.12.17 Ken "Whit" Whitman Still Large & In-Charge Over at Little Monsters... Kenny is still doing live comic book "shows" over Facebook, with Jess Hunter. Last we checked, December is more than a few months after April......the show, which is no longer viewable, made it clear they were a couple, and that Ken was "in charge" of the Little Monsters Entertainment show.

So by late 2018 we have Jess opening 211 Games & Comics under her own name, while Ken continued maintaining a very public connection to both Jess and the comic/game business through Little Monsters Entertainment. Now this was done prior to that December Facebook Live Show under the Little Monsters Entertainment banner, so clearly there is still some connection between Ken, Jess, and the Somerset comic/gaming community. It appears that 211 Games & Comics dissolved in spring of 2019 and Kentucky Collectibles stepped in to take its place.

Looking through these previous posts, and a couple of others in passing, it seems like there was a front-facing attempt to provide some legal separation between Ken Whitman and the Little Monster(s) comic book store, but Ken being Ken he couldn't avoid the spotlight and kept a very public-facing connection to the store, appearing to remain involved in its operation, despite what he posted on Facebook. It appears he developed a relationship quite early on with Jess Hunter and eventually married her...(July 2025). Since Ken "owned" the original comic book store, acted like he still owned it after selling it to his now-wife even after she incorporated a new store (that December FB Live show AND this comment from the November 8, 2018 FB post) .....yeah, I'm having a hard time believing that the name on the LLC paperwork tells us the whole story.

2018.12.17 Ken "Whit" Whitman Still Large & In-Charge Over at Little Monsters...

Remember that Comic Book store that Ken "Whit" Whitman allegedly sold back in April? Well it sure seems to us that he's clearly running the show at Little Monsters.

In a recent Live Show our main man wheeled and dealed for over a half-hour.....actually just shy of 47 minutes (we watched so you don't have to!) At no point did he ask the "owner" for permission, nor did she make any suggestions as Kenny made up specials on the spot.

There was enough banter back and forth to make it clear that they were a couple (talks about not having drinks for when he comes over to her house, clear implications that he was her boyfriend, etc.). The joking around about domestic violence was pretty classy as well....

Of course this was the background to their cover story around the 21 minute mark: "Joe, we talk a lot of shit. Me and, uh, her......yah, yeah, whatever her name is. I never forget 'ol what's-her-face. She's the one who pays me."

I really don't know who they think they're fooling.....it clearly looks like he's just hiding the store in plain sight.

We did enjoy the on-screen banter about a customer not receiving his product and Ken "Whit" Whitman flat-out saying that it was stolen off the guy's porch....I wonder if that guy knows just how often Kenny has claimed product has been sent......(just browse the "Ken Sez" page)

2018.12.10 Rumor that Ken "Whit" Whitman Might be Selling his Game/Comic Store (Again?)

Editor's Note: As of the time of this posting, this information is JUST a rumor. While it is from a reliable source, there is no secondary source for corroboration. Until we get this corroboration, just assume our author is full of....it and this is all FALSE information/news.

Recently we heard that the game/comic store that Ken allegedly sold, but we completely called bullshit because the "new" company was mythical until we reported on it.....

you know, because business associates kiss on camera......

Anyway, word on the street is that Ken "Whit" Whitman has an ACTUAL buyer for his comic/game store, and a cash buyer, not some pay-as-you-go deal as whatever manner Ken "Whit" Whitman came into the store. It seems like Kenny basically lost one location, moved to another, and essentially ran two different businesses from the same location: a physical game/comic store and an online auction/web store.

Regardless of how Ken "Whit" Whitman runs these businesses, we've hear d reports that he's up to the modus operandi we've come to know him by.

If there is any truth to this report we can expect Ken "Whit" Whitman to come into some cash that will not be used for fulfilling his Kickstarter obligations. Speaking of which, we should have seen some news about backers.....even one backer, having received their pencils.

2018.04.30 Ken "Whit" Whitman Speak Up Over at Tenkar's Tavern

We decided a while ago that we wouldn't let Ken "Whit" Whitman attack people using Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman) as the forum.

At the same time, however, we do try to keep everyone informed when Kenny pops up, which he has chosen to do over at Tenkar's Tavern. We thought he was taking a break from social media/ being online, but after re-reading his original post that was just from Facebook.

"Jesus H Christ... Do you guys just speculate and make stories up for no good reason?

1. Marcus sold me the store for $320 a week for three years.
2. I have not been able to make a payment since January, and defaulted on the loan.
3. Marcus had me stay on until he found a new buyer.
4. A few weeks ago, Jim wanted to be bought out from Marcus (he was Marcus minority shareholder, he got a percentage when sold Little Monsters Comics, LLC to Marcus), so Marcus paid him money and gave the old store back to Jim.
5. Jim found a buyer. yesterday was my last day as manager as I was training everyone with the new management.

TA DA!

Q. Did Ken own the store. 
A. Yes till I defaulted on the contract.

Q. Does Ken have anything to do with Little Monsters Ent?
A. No.

Q. Is Ken still working on Kickstarters?

1st off, "Why was 'that' (emphasis ours)never posted?"....probably because we didn't have the information. You want us to update the appropriate posts Kenny....then have THEM get in touch. Until then, this is just more deflection and/or spin.

2nd, this is the closest thing to a non-update...update on your Kickstarters since (we have to go look & verify) SEPTEMBER 11, 2016!!! If you expect anyone to even believe that you are working on anything, a couple of odd mentions after-the-fact by Marcus King isn't going to cut it. You've gone dark for at least the last 18 months and you weren't exactly increasing your (Kickstarter) supporters confidence in you any before that date.

The fact is Ken "Whit" Whitman has had supporter's money for a collective 7,628 days (the sum of all Kickstarters funding date until today) and hasn't updated these same people a combined total of 3,815 days. This is over 10 years of silence and almost 20 years of having the money.....and let's not forget all the money made off-book that even he probably can't tabulate. All the resin, the KoDt: 20 Years of Covers, and general KenzerCo product/services (we've been told Kenny sold at least one Jolly Blackburn appearance at a con with no provisions for expenses).

At least we can try to celebrate that Ken "Whit" Whitman may finally understand the meaning of the word "libel". Too bad that Erik Tenkar's original post doesn't meet the threshold of libel, clearly being protected 1st Amendment opinions that likely do not meet the injury requirements for Kenny. Obviously his understanding is a work in progress........

2018.04.24 Whit gets a kiss goodbye as he Slips and Slides his night away.

We've received a couple of "tips" that Ken "Whit" Whitman sold Little Monsters Games & Comics to his "girlfriend" Jess Hunter. We don't know about that so much, but the relationship between the two seems a little lot more than professional.

Last week Ken "Whit" Whitman and Jess Hunter did a early morning "show" that ended around 2:30 AM. If you really want to watch the 75' show, by all means....knock yourself out.

We watched it for you, and our opinion is that Ken "Whit" Whitman doesn't act like someone who just sold his store to someone else. He's firmly large & in charge for this "show" and every thing is "his" throughout. The banter between the two is way more than just informal. Here is an excerpt from -7:24 mark (the video counts down the time left):

"That’s right, everyone’s sticking around to see about this wonderful kiss we have at the end that you owe me, my goodbye kiss."

2018.04.29 Marcus King Washes his Hands Professionally of Ken "Whit" Whitman

A couple of people have sent us this Facebook post from Marcus King. It doesn't seem to be a public post, so we're limited to what has been sent to us, which was just the text of the post. If anyone can forward a screen shot we'd appreciate it.
We do have some commentary to make, but we'll just use some footnotes, denoted like this (1).

Ken has been my friend for about 20 years.
In 2006, as I have described elsewhere in detail, Ken Whitman spent about 3 hours preventing me from committing suicide. Consider, if you can, what you might do to repay such a debt.

Ken and I never worked on any kickstarters.(1) I never backed any of his kickstarters, either. In fact, I have backed about 5 or 6 kickstarters, ever. Two from Reaper, one of two from Dwarven Forge, a couple others. Maybe.

I never received money from Ken about or over or from his Kickstarters.

About a year and a half ago I absorbed the assets (and not the liabilities) of another store, the owner, whose name does not need to get muck/dragged - we will call him JIM. He owned Little Monster in Somerset, KY.(2) About that time, Ken Whitman came to work for me as an employee because he needed to work to eat, plain and simple. I hired him to work in my store. He did some good work for me for a few months. But, some of my staff did not like working with Ken.

After a few months of Ken working with me, he had proven capable when on his meds, and erratic when not. I suggested to Ken that I pay him $8 an hour (what most of my 12+ staff get paid) for 20 hours a week to do projects for me (like casting terrain, and making comic lots, etc), and also pay him 20 hours a week to work on old kickstarter projects (and thus allowing him to work for me, but not with my other staff). I was willing for him to start using my computers or equipment, paying him $8 an hour for 40 hours, and he could live in my home if need be. Thus, using his pay to buy whatever other supplies he needed (like pencils or what have you). Ken went off to work for Troll and Toad instead.(3)

Meanwhile
My plan for the Little Monster location was to close it, but my new partner (JIM), wanted to keep it open, so we tried. But, MOST of what I acquired by merging with Little Monster was their inventory, and their customer base, and their manager (Jason, still works for me, does a great job). I did not want to keep the store open. So, we tried making it a pallet store, didn’t work. I tried to gift it to my daughter and her boyfriend, and give them a good start. REALLY didn’t work.(4)

Finally, Ken not wanting to work for Troll and Toad any longer, he asked about buying the store. Jim wanted to get out of the lease. I agreed to sell it way below value to Ken, as long as he covered the lease. We agreed, signed documents, etc.(5,6)

A year went by.

Jim decided he wanted OUT of being my partner. Suddenly. Like, about two weeks ago.
I paid Jim some money, and gave him back controlling interest in the debt owed by Ken to us.(7) He worked something out with Ken, which documents I have not seen, the details of which I am not privy to.

This is where things stand now.

I am no longer associated with Little Monster.
I am no longer financially associated with Ken.(8)
I am 100% owner of Mad Ox.
Jim is bought out and now has only to deal with Ken.
Ken blames me for his financial troubles, even though I had recently agreed to buy the pencil machine for him to make pencils for his old Kickstarter thingy (mostly because he now has financial responsibility to Jim, instead of me, and I had not required him to make a payment in months, and had previously said I never cared if he made another payment to me or not).(9)

My long term loyalty to Ken has been because he saved my life.
It is not because we are tied at the hip financially. His buying the store from me/us at the time really was only of benefit to Jim, because it relieved Jim & Ken - allowing Ken a source of income, and relieving Jim from the financial responsibility of the lease, which I never was party to or responsible for.

I just wanted to post this to let there be a public record of what has transpired.
If you want to bash me for my past blind loyalty to someone who saved my life, I reckon I got it coming from many of you.

I now wash my hands of all association with Ken, other than being his friend, if he decides he wants to remain friends.

Footnote Commentaries:
(1) Did Marcus already forget about his Facebook post we featured in this post? He literally wrote, "My friend, Ken Whitman and I, goofing around while working on the PencilDice Kickstarter"
(2) "absorbed the assets (and not the liabilities) of another store" We have no idea what that means. Did he purchase the assets, were they a gift? "About a year and a half ago" places it with the dissolution of Little Monster Comics, LLC but a good three months AFTER Kenny's creation of Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC. We detailed these business filings here.
(3) So Ken "Whit" Whitman had a job offer paying him 20 hours a week to work on his Kickstarters, but he turned it down?
(4) So the store belonging to the company that was administratively dissolved wasn't actually "absorbed", but there was a merger of the two companies, resulting in only one company left, which was NOT Little Monster Comics, LLC.
(5) Up until this point there are TWO storefronts belonging to one company. Marcus and "Jim" are partners in said company. Ken asks to extract one storefront, and presumably some stock, from the one company. He forms Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC and now there are TWO companies and TWO storefronts.
(6) The most solid statement regarding Ken "Whit" Whitman actually owning a comics & game store seen yet.
(7) So Marcus is now the sole owner of the one company, and Kenny is the sole owner of the second company, but he owes BOTH Marcus and "Jim" money, with "Jim" owning the "controlling interest" in said debt.

(9) So Ken "Whit" Whitman has not paid off his debt/loan to Marcus & "Jim" in months, and Marcus, who says he doesn't have any financial association with Ken, but evidently holds some of Ken's debt, doesn't care if Ken ever makes another payment. To be fair, that could have been said months or a year ago and is the reason Ken "Whit" Whitman hasn't paid anything in months.


Overall this makes a lot more sense, with the whole....."Does Kenny actually own a store or not?", but it also looks like Marcus has finally gotten burned by his association with Ken "Whit" Whitman. Regardless of anyone's opinion on Ken "Whit" Whitman, or even of Marcus King for that matter, you cannot fault the man for wanting to give Ken a helping hand or three if he credits the man for saving his life.

What's your life worth?....probably a lot more than a storefront and a bunch of comics.....

2018.04.25 We're Calling BS Over Here at NAD

We received a couple forwardings of a specific Facebook post from the "new owner" of Little Monsters Games & Comics. The "new" company, which was created less than an hour and a half after we posted that it didn't exist, is owned/managed by one Jess Hunter.

We've had some speculation back and forth with some contributors about this sale of the business and we've already put forth that we think this is just some paper shuffling, presumably to remove some of Ken "Whit" Whitman's assets going into his civil suit which was filed last month. The company-that-didn't-exist-until-after-the-sale is one big red flag, and frankly we wouldn't be surprised if eventually word comes out that it wasn't Kenny's business to begin with.

That is pretty predictable, especially with the sale of Ken "Whit" Whitman's business so soon after being served with the civil suit. Oh, and here we go....no mention of Ken "Whit" Whitman, but of Jim Sears. If you remember some of the fine print, Arthur James Sears company Little Monsters Comics, LLC was administratively dissolved a couple months after the creation of Ken "Whit' Whitman's company Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC.

Now it could be taken that Ken "Whit" Whitman is just a straight-up liar about owning/managing Little Monsters Games & Comics, despite having stated as much many times over the last year or so. You might chalk it up to boasting, a little pride, whatever. Hell, he used to claim ownership of a freakin hotel that wasn't his, but belonged to the family he married in to.

You know....it would be real useful to have some words on it by the guy who allegedly sold Ken "Whit" Whitman his business....and that would be Marcus King. Oh yeah...we have that!

Hmm.....Marcus didn't say, "Hey you knucklehead, that business was conducted in MY store and you just publicly put me on the hook for a $600 tax bill!" No...no he didn't. He clearly stated that the transaction, which Ken "Whit" Whitman tried to immediately weasel out of, was conducted in KEN'S STORE and that KEN was "on the hook" for $600.

The contents of said Facebook post have been scrubbed, but we did manage to preserve a copy for posterity....

2018.04.22 Ken "Whit" Whitman Sells His Business?

There has been some debate regarding whether or not Ken "Whit" Whitman owns Little Monster Games & Comics. We've covered the subject on IF Kenny owns this store or not and while the best we came up with is "maybe", for the purposes of this post it doesn't really matter because Ken "Whit" Whitman has clearly stated he owns & manages Little Monster Games & Comics on several occasions, but we'll just reference this specific time because not only did Kenny state that the business was his, but that it was transferring to new owners and he was assisting in said transition: "I am no longer manager/owner of Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC. I will be staying on till the end of the month to help with the transition of new owners."

The "new" store is now under the domain of "Little Monsters Entertainment, LLC". New logo, but same store. Here is a post from an hour ago: "Tuesday night will be Whit Whitman last comic show at Little Monsters. He will be bringing out some great titles for his last sale, including Slabs, detective comics, Deadpool, ghost Rider, and really good stuff. Stop buy at 8pm est to wish him a happy Good-By."

Looks like Ken "Whit" Whitman is enjoying himself, presumably because he thinks he can skip town and avoid responding to the summons he received last month. There has been some speculation that he is offloading the store so it cannot be lost as an asset of his in this, and a pending future (still just a rumor) suit. Assuming Ken "Whit" Whitman actually did own the store, remember that he's the only registered agent and has been claiming it's his store all along, it's on the table for the purposes of the suit.

Our speculation is that the store hasn't actually been sold, but it is changing hands on paper only.....and maybe not even that. Maybe it really wasn't in Ken "Whit" Whitman's hands to begin with......but that would be a huge other legal/tax problem probably beyond the scope of this blog.

The thing we find interesting is that as of today's date, we cannot find any paper to support the alleged "sale" of Little Monster Games & Comics to Little Monsters Entertainment, LLC. All we can see is a new Facebook page with a pretty new monster courtesy of Shutter Stock Images.

We went ahead and did a quick search with the Secretary of State for Kentucky, and as of today's date there is no listing for Little Monsters Entertainment, LLC. We did a search for "Little" and came up with at least 999 listings (old & new) and it just isn't there.

Special Note: This picture is Photoshopped to show the top of the page while still showing the immediate entries before and after "Little Monster" as the page is listed alphabetically with  the search for "Monster". You can easily just do your own search with the link above.

Now it could take a while for the LLC filing to be posted, but it's been at least three business days and realistically the business should exist as a legal entity BEFORE acquiring/purchasing the store, so that filing should be in the system.

Until we see some paper dated before the 17th, we're going to assume this is just a dodge and an attempt by Ken "Whit" Whitman to avoid any repercussions from his Kickstarter Projects.

2018.04.23 Update
Interesting in that we published this original post on Sunday, April 22nd at 12:35 PM Central/1:35 PM Eastern. Why is this important? Well look what was filed almost an hour and a half later:

So let's see if we got this right......the legal entity that is purchasing Little Monsters Games & Comics from Ken "Whit" Whitman didn't exist until an hour and eighteen minutes AFTER we posted that said entity didn't exist? No, that doesn't look fishy at all.

2018.04.17 Ken "Whit" Whitman is on the Run!

After being served with a summons last week it appears our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman has decided he better skip town. We have to assume he's also being a bit proactive in trying to avoid being served with that second suit we've heard rumor about (we'll post the details once it's been served and we get our hands on a copy like last time.)

Not so much a rumor, but speculation on our part, is that Ken "Whit" Whitman is not only fleeing from one or more suits, but trying to get out of Dodge because his expressed interest in Little Monsters Games & Comics, assuming he actually owns any portion of the company, could be in jeopardy.

"As of 7:20 pm tonight, I am no longer manager/owner of Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC. I will be staying on till the end of the month to help with the transition of new owners. I will begin persuing a full time career in the motion picture industry as well as finishing up some unfinished kickstarter business. I appreceate all of your who have helped my time at Little Monsters as incredable experience."

With the spelling and grammatical errors that is Ken "Whit" Whitman's unique style, it looks like his work. Also, the fact that he posted this twice on two separate Facebook accounts (another classic from Kenny) must mean this is serious...

For the record, the graphic on the right is of several Facebook posts merged into one picture.

We also noticed he mentioned his Kickstarters, presumably so he can avoid even more suits by claiming that he's "working" on the Kickstarters, and just slow/late. Of course claiming on FB that he's working on the Kickstarters is kind of useless since he has clearly abandoned the projects since he hasn't checked in with his backers using a Kickstarter Update, on ANY of his six "open" projects, since 2016.

Last night we received an email claiming our main-man Ken "Whit" Whitman is using his new gig at Little Monster Games & Comics to screw people out of money.

Now, to be fair to Ken "Whit" Whitman, we cannot verify the claims made within this email, so you have to take this as hearsay on our part. There are only two reasons we even feel comfortable posting this inflammatory email, which you should definitely assume is false:
     1) The pattern established in the short email is consistent with previous behavior of Ken "Whit" Whitman.
     2) We would think that if there is any truth to this email then there would be others willing to corroborate by telling us of similar interactions with Ken "Whit" Whitman and Little Monster Games & Comics.

Until such time though we should all take the following email as hearsay, because it is:

"I also got ripped off by Ken. I got suckered during one of his magic sales/auctions. Bought once for 20, those cards were perfect. Ordered another set for 25, got half of them. One card I didn't get I bought for 5 dollars, after I paid it spiked up to 15, it still hasn't arrived. I was told it shipped so I spent another 22.50. This was November 2017. I still have not received my cards. When I contacted him once, he said they were shipped. The second time he told me he still had them. Finally he threatened to resell them. It isn't as much as some, but it still shows he is ripping people off."

2018.01.04 Some Confusing Background Information Concerning Ken "Whit" Whitman's Comic/Game Store

Word on the streets has it that there has been a LOT of drama with a particular Facebook Group: Game Store Retailer.

This is a closed group and since none of our writers/editors own a game store, we're not about to make something up to get an inside man.....just not our style.

Now this is OBVIOUSLY just rumor that we've heard and while we will repeat it, it is only so we can shed some light on our end of things. We might luck out and get a member of that Facebook group to give us the inside scoop. You can also read the pertinent Tenkar's Tavern post to catch up, but our takeaway rumor comes down to a single question: Does Ken Whitman own or manage a comic/game store previously owned by Marcus King?

This should be a simple yes/no question. It appears, at least by the intel that Tenkar's Tavern has posted, that the real problem is our question itself because there seems to be some inconsistency.

Is Ken "Whit" Whitman an owner or manager of Little Monsters Games & Comics, or does he just manage it?

Let's look at the facts that we can uncover from a third party:

• Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC filed Articles of Organization with the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Secretary of State on July 20, 2017, and is listed as organization number 0991519. Ken Whitman is clearly listed as the only officer of the company, which is managed by "Managers". This makes sense since the grand opening, according to the Little Monsters Games & Comics Facebook page has the "Grand Opening" listed as July 23, 2017.
• The Kentucky Secretary of State only lists two legal entities with a name containing "Little Monster". The second one, Little Monster Comics, LLC was administratively dissolved on October 9, 2017 when the company failed to file the required annual report.
• The only officer listed on the Articles of Organization for Little Monster Comics, LLC is one James Arthur Sears. This was organization 0736766.
• Marcus King is listed as a "Member" of Many Gifts, Games & Comics, LLC and is listed as an "Inactive" company with a "bad" status as organization 0854151. On May 23, 2017 his status was changed to "Registered Agent", but the name of the authorized agent (Webbed Sphere, Inc.) who signed that paperwork was Marcus King, and he dated the paperwork as June 11, 2016. Webbed Sphere, Inc was the Organizer and the other Member was one Johnathan Huston.

• Many Gifts, Games & Comics, LLC was also administratively dissolved on October 9th, 2017.
• Johnathan Huston is listed as the Director & President of Webbed Sphere, Inc (organization number 0583884). Webbed Sphere, Inc has had several assumed business names in the past: Troll and Toad, Toy Vault Toy Club, The Arcade Lair, and most recently Corbin Toys and Games.
• Webbed Sphere, Inc was also the Registered Agent for two other "Inactive" and "bad" status LLCs: Games & Comics, LLC (organization 0854151), which was administratively dissolved on October 9, 2017; Game Festival, LLC (organization 0867995), which was administratively dissolved on October 1st, 2016.
• Webbed Sphere, Inc. is also the Registered Agent for one active company, Six Hogs, LLC (organization 0849063)
• Johnathan Huston is the President of another company, Troll & Toad II, Inc, which is a Kentucky Corporation (organization 0971360)

Just meandering through these listings can be a bit confusing, and it doesn't even tell us that Marcus King actually owned a game store, much less sold one to Ken "Whit" Whitman. There is the odd paperwork for Many Gifts, Games & Comics, LLC, which should probably have been signed by Johnathan Huston since he has always been listed as the Registered Agent for Webbed Sphere, Inc.

These filings don't specifically tell us that Ken "Whit" Whitman owns Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC, but as he is the only listed Registered Agent, there is a 99% likelihood he owns the thing. Nobody in their right mind makes a "Manager" the Organizer and only Registered Agent.

These filings also don't specifically tell us that Marcus King owned a store to sell to Ken "Whit" Whitman. He might have been a partner of Webbed Sphere, Inc., and that he was allowed to make himself the Registered Agent for Many Gifts, Games & Comics, LLC lends some credence to that theory. The fact that Little Monster Comics, LLC was administratively dissolved on the same date as Many Gifts, Games & Comics, LLC is interesting. Of course these are just legal entities, not necessarily the stores as customers would know them.

It looks, and this is just pure conjecture here (i.e. don't take our word for it) that if Marcus King actually owns some businesses as he purports to that he is running them from behind the scenes and using others as the public face(s) of said companies. That doesn't really help us get to a clear answer to the original question of Does Ken Whitman own or manage a comic/game store previously owned by Marcus King? The short answer is....maybe?

It looks like Ken "Whit" Whitman maybe owns Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC and if that LLC is running a store with resources obtained from Little Monster Comics, LLC and/or Many Gifts, Games & Comics, LLC, then Marcus King's ownership of those two now defunct entities is tenuous at best.

It is apparent that there are not only inconsistencies in the story, already reported on at Tenkar's Tavern, and the legal paperwork does nothing to straighten things out. We will not conjecture further as to why there are all these inconsistencies.

We will, however, gladly report that we have a legal address for Ken "Whit" Whitman, for those who need said address:

2017.10.19 Ken "Whit" Whitman Admits to Trying to Sell Fake Memorabilia (But Doesn't Accept Any Personal Responsibility)

Looks like between Tenkar's Tavern and our work here we were able to get some action from our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman, at least regarding the fake-as-hell merchandise he was trying to sell our of his Little Monster Games & Comic shop.

The piece by Erik Tenkar was enjoyable enough (read it here), but aside from our already stated opinions & commentary, we'll just use the rest of this post for documentation.

"As many of you may know, I, Ken “Whit” Whitman, have been a background Actor on The Walking Dead for three episodes. I want to start out by saying it is an honor to have worked on the Walking Dead as an extra. I love to tell the stories of working on set when I am a guest at stores and events.

Recently I bought a Comic Book shop in Somerset Ky called Little Monsters Games & Comics, LLC. We sale all kinds of nerd and geek things. Comic Book, Magic The Gathering Cards, D&D, Walking Dead, you name it.

Several weeks ago I met a man named King Jones, from Russel Springs KY, who stated that he was the third largest collector of The Walking Dead merchandise in the world. This 67 year old man seemed very likable and proceeded to show me his collection that he brought to my store. He brought me multiple Walking Dead items, including, 4 Scripts signed by actors, a proto type Negan bat, origianl Funko pop drawings, A couple CGC Walking Dead CGC Graded Comics, and Michonne Boots, saying that the boots were all purchased buy collectors from charity auctions.

It took us a few days to figure out they were fake, and I immediatly reported it to the Police. Thankfully NONE of the items given to me on consignment were sold. Mr. King was questioned by the police in my store and he was told to never try to sell these items again.
However, due to how the law works, the fake items were given back to Mr. Jones, who I hope hopfuly destroyed said materials, or is looking for the people who sold him the items.

I am very happy in my decision to work with the police about this unfortinate situation. I am not happy that the police did not take the items for any type of evidence and only gave Mr. Jones a warning but in the USA everyone is innocent until proven guilty. But that is the law folks. Deep down in my heart I hope that Mr. Jones is a victom also, but fell compelled to let people know of my story so this does not happen again.

They say, If you dont get what you want to get experience. I now know what a real CGC comic slab looks like. I now know how to check letter of authentisties! And belive me, I am checking any third party materials that comes in my store.

AMC Networks, & CGC Comic grading systems have been notified and are fully away of the situation. I can only hope that they contune to pursue these fakes and find the people who ruin fandom for the little guy.

In conclusion, I am truly sorry for my unkowing envolvement in this situation, and appreceate all our local customers who have stuck beside me during this unfortinate situation.

2017.09.15 Little Monsters Games & Comics Facebook Post(s)

Some days you have to be quick on the computer to get information about our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman.

Fortunately we have folks who appreciate the work we've been doing and feed is intel, because let's face it: Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman) is a small operation run by a small cadre of dedicated volunteers. While we try our best we have to assume some scams, or more importantly what we would personally consider (i.e. our opinions) scams, slip by us.

Somebody sent us a screen shot today from Facebook. Evidently Jolly Blackburn got in a little burn on an older post. We tried to find the OP, but we cannot, so just go ahead and assume this screenshot is fake:

We've already figured out the COA is fake, and this post over at Tenkar's Tavern has an email from the real-world authentication company. (Picture stolen borrowed from Tenkar's Tavern and here only for documentation purposes):

Now we already new as much from our original "investigation" into the COA that was posted on the Little Monster Games & Comics Facebook page.

Before we go any further we need to point out our assumption that in the please-assume-this-is-fake-Facebook-post-because-we-cannot-provide-a-reference burn from Mr. Blackburn, that he isn't stating Ken "Whit" Whitman provided the fake COA, but that there is a possibility that whatever item is being discussed could be as fake as the COA. Again, this is an assumption, but presumably the item being discussed is a Walking Dead item.

Because of this assumption, we started digging a little bit into the Little Monster Games & Comics Facebook posts, using September 15th as a reference point. We found this little gem:

"So a guy comes in my store last week, says hes a big Walking Dead Fan, if you ever get something good call.

Today, guy comes in with #1 9.9 CGC graded Walking Dead, along with a prototype Negan bat, and a bunch of scripts signed by the cast and kirkmen himself.

The call is made, 15 minutes later they are talking very intensly as I watch them jocky for position.

They haggel over 3 or 4 of these collectors items, including TWD #1. The owner of the collectables wanted 11k for three items, the buyers only wants to spend 10k.

So... they decide to flip a coin, if the owner wins its 12k, if the buyer wins its 10k. And so I witnessed a 2k coin flip.

If you want to know how it ended... well thats a story I finish telling only in person."

So we want to point out a couple points here:
1) Guy comes in to the store with Walking Dead items to include "a bunch of scripts signed by the cast and kirkman himself"

2) Ken "Whit" Whitman calls another person who comes to the store (we've already established this was in the store) "15 minutes later" and Ken "Whit" Whitman observes the discussion 1st hand "as I watch them jocky for position"

3) The two determine a method for settling their haggling during a sale, which is witnessed again by Ken "Whit" Whitman "And so I witnessed a 2k coin flip."

We want to recap a bit here before we continue....Ken "Whit" Whitman, proprietor of the establishment known as Little Monsters Games & Comics helped broker a large sale between two private sellers in his establishment. He was present for the negotiations and witnessed the conclusion of the methodology used to reach an agreement as to price. By his own admittance he feels that this story is worth telling in person at his store.

Do you feel fully aware of the details of this story? We hope so.

The very 1st comment is from Ken "Whit" Whitman's mentor (?) Marcus King, who as near as we can tell, somehow sold the store to Ken "Whit" Whitman. We think it can be reasonably inferred from our previous posts and a quick perusal of Mr. Kings Facebook page, that Mr. King is an experienced local businessman when it comes to running a game and comic book store. In that very 1st post, Mr. King publicly advises Ken "Whit" Whitman about an aspect of the transaction that this Facebook post was all about:

" So, someone sold $10K of stuff in your store. You do realize YOU are on the hook for $600 sales tax, right?

True story."

Now we see how quickly the story changes....

"The guys left after the coin flip. I never saw any money. :-/

Hope they are responsable enough to pay their taxes!"

Of course he didn't see any money....who carries that kind of cash around. Regardless it seems clear that a financial transaction occurred in Little Monsters Games & Comics. Ken "Whit" Whitman bragged about it in the post and Mr. King made his commentary after reading the exact words you, dear reader, just read. If this wasn't a financial transaction then there would be no reason for Ken "Whit" Whitman to be present for "a 2k coin flip".

But wait! There's more!

"However, for brokering the Deal, I will be selling off the Sellers 50k Walking Dead collection and taking a commission. And you bet your ass I will be paying state taz on everything sold to anyone who lives and or does business at my store!"

Wait a minute........if Kenny wasn't there for the deal...the deal that didn't happen in the store as his story started out....then how could he immediately state, "for brokering the deal"? We especially like the public comment about paying the "taz" on deals brokered in his store.....but clearly not this this one deal in his store he was present for but definitely did not happen.

So at this point we're beating a dead horse but something doesn't sit right with us and it isn't the deal/no deal at the heart of this Facebook post. Did you notice it too? If you did, please leave us a comment after the post....

.....ok, if you didn't see what we did, we'll catch you up. Ken "Whit" Whitman is selling this Walking Dead collection that is "50k"....that's a big collection, but not nearly as big as the $100K collection referenced in the screen capture of the COA burn. So on the 15th of September, the collection is worth $100K and by the 17th the collection is worth $50K? What happened? Did Ken "Whit" Whitman sell $50k in two days? Did he devalue the collection by 50%....if so, how?

If Ken "Whit" Whitman is such a good businessman that he can turn around $50K of inventory in two days then we think he should be able to broker a deal (obviously not on the property of Little Monsters Games & Comics) to get at least one of his Kickstarters fulfilled.

If Ken "Whit" Whitman is such a bad businessman that he can lose $50K of inventory in two days then how the hell is his store still open some three(ish) weeks later? In retail inventory loss is generally attributed to three sources: Internal theft, external theft, and shoddy management (poor paperwork, letting product "spoil", etc.)

We have our own theory.....

"But I'm gonna tell you this. I actually have a lot of Walking Dead in there an in about two weeks I'm gonna be selling Walking Dead. Not just talking about POPs. I actually, in my store, have Michonne's shoes. I have sss, I have signed scripts. I have uh Andrew Lincoln's script from pilot 1 signed by him. I have a ton of wonderful Walking Dead stuff that I am gonna be selling here."

Skipping ahead a bit (transcribing this is a bit painful) to the -1:32:06
"I'm one of Neegan's Saviors, so I do have a lot of connections in that area. So if you need some Walking Dead, just PM me, I'll help you out."

This video was from September 21st and makes it appear, at least to us, that Ken "Whit" Whitman is attempting to sell Walking Dead memorabilia off of the books. 1st we have the deal-that-isn't-a-deal on "last week", which would have been the week of September 10th to the 16th.

On the 15th of September this collection is worth $100K. That is via an unverified post so that does poke a bit of a hole in our theory, but we'll continue on as Jolly Blackburn does seem to read this blog and post comments here. (Editor note....he did) In September 17th the collection is now worth $50K, which we've noted seems to be quite the devaluation in such a short time. Four days later Ken "Whit" Whitman comments on a live Facebook video feed that he basically has the hookup for people wanting some Walking Dead memorabilia, the details of which can only be obtained by direct messaging him on Facebook.

We know he had the boots which we cannot confirm are fake, but we can confirm, through this video, that Ken "Whit" Whitman had on September 21st. Fast forward to the Facebook post (we referenced on Monday, October 2nd) from September 24th, showing the boots and the fake Certificate of Authenticity (CoA or COA). In that Little Monster Games & Comics post, which has since been removed, Ken "Whit" Whitman remarked, "There are no pruce tags on these, so dont be asking prices if money is an issue!"

Our theory, based on what we've seen with these posts, is that Ken "Whit" Whitman is using the Little Monsters Games & Comics to sell, off the books, Walking Dead memorabilia. Between the deal that isn't a deal, but really is a deal, the wild fluctuation in alleged value, along with no actual item prices, and the need to conduct that business in private, but still through the store (or at least the store's Facebook account) leads us to what we think is a natural conclusion. This is, and should be taken as, complete conjecture on our part. Like always, we encourage our readers to not rely on our speculations, but to do their best to pull on the many internet threads we've done our best to document and to make up your own conclusions.
