 Who is Ken Whitman?

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. 2025.12.03 Well This is Awkward

2025.12.03 Well This is Awkward
Taking a look at PieoSync and seeing if there was any...substance to it. There is an AI-filled webpage where the vast majority of the links don't work on a website selling....."stuff" for between $4.99 and $17.99. Yes, the "stuff" has names, but no idea what any of it is. No product description to be had for any of the 12 alleged products.

Now the Facebook page is a different animal. There are several AI tools, basically specialized prompts* and one makes us just shake our heads: MEET GARY ... YOUR NEW CROWD FUNDING COACH — DOWNLOAD NOW Just $19.99

Really? Kenny has such a great history with crowd funding that anyone would want to spend $20 ....on a PDF that sets up some AI prompts?

Get Advice on Crowd Funding From Ken Whit Whitman?!

A campaign coach built for creators stepping into the arena. Powered by the PieoSync cognitive engine, Gary breaks crowdfunding into clean beats—what you’re offering, who you’re talking to, how to build trust, and how to convert attention into committed backers. Warm tone, direct guidance, and structure that keeps you moving instead of second-guessing.

Kenny can't even post a graphic for this "product", but we're supposed to think that he has a put-together PDF for AI prompts? For $20? Does he think if he throws a bunch of techno-babble at the internet "wall" that eventually something will stick?

Taking a look at PieoSync and, well wouldn't you know it......."Gary" isn't listed. We're only showing the first product page here....for reasons. The website is just a mess. Most of the links just reload the page, and oddly enough, the top "Product" link on each page....doesn't actually go to one of the two product pages. Basically this is just one big-assed placeholder, really half-assed (our opinion) and not something you'd have on a "live" website (again our opinion).

We find this really rich seeing how Kenny...er Whit, is practically bragging about his expertise working with AI, which is literally the reason for the website to begin with as he wants you to pay him for his "expertise" with this very subject.....(emphasis is ours):

"What I’ve Actually Been Doing With AI

By Ken “Whit” Whitman

I keep seeing posts about AI — what it might do,

what people are afraid of, what some guru says it’ll replace. Here’s what I’ve actually done with it.

I assembled 120 game cards in two hours. Not designed them — I’d already done that. I fed AI my spreadsheet of stats, symbols, and rules. It placed the text, positioned the artwork, formatted every card to print-ready Photoshop templates. 120 cards. 90% accuracy. Fifteen minutes of machine time plus my quality pass. That’s a week of production work. Done in 60 mins.

I built a 300-page website in four hours. Not a landing page. Not a template. Three hundred individual HTML pages, structured and styled, deployed on WordPress. From zero to live in a single afternoon. 4 hrs start to finish build.

I researched 300 game designers — properly. Not Wikipedia summaries. Structured profiles following a consistent format, averaging ten minutes per person. The kind of research that would take a team of interns a month. I did it solo, with coffee. Did it in 8 hrs.

I ran 30,000 simulations of a card game I designed. Monte Carlo analysis. I fed the AI every card and every rule, then let probability do what playtesting can’t — surface the hidden weaknesses, the broken combos, the edge cases no human would catch in a hundred play sessions. Done in 30 mins. Ran it 6 times after it game modification.  Thats a year of test play.

I built a system that cuts AI hallucination by 95%. Then I patented it. It’s called a governance framework. It doesn’t just prompt the AI better — it restructures how the AI thinks about accuracy, giving it guardrails that make its output trustworthy. That one matters. Cuts mistakes and overconfident ai by 95%.  Took 3 months to develop and now saves yeaes of bad decidions.

I’ve now created over 50 specialized AI programs. Each one is purpose-built for a specific job — keeping the AI focused, structured, and useful instead of wandering off into generic responses. Think of them as lenses. Same AI, different expertise.  I can bulid a soecual one in 4 hrs for soecific tasks.

Here’s what I’ve learned. AI doesn’t replace expertise. It amplifies it. Every one of these projects worked because I brought thirty years of game design, filmmaking, and systems thinking to the table. The AI didn’t know what a good card layout looks like. I did. The AI didn’t know which simulation parameters matter. I did. The AI didn’t know how to stop itself from making things up. I built the system that taught it.

The people who will thrive with AI aren’t the ones who know the most about AI. They’re the ones who know the most about their craft — and figure out how to plug AI into it.

So what’s next? Three things.

First — more specialized programs. The fifty I’ve built are just the beginning. The real unlock is creating AI systems that stay locked onto a specific task without drifting. Not chatbots. Workmates. Purpose-built tools that know their job and do it without wandering off script.

Second — production modeling. I make films and I design games. Both are complex, expensive, and full of moving parts. I’m building AI systems that can model a film shoot before it happens — scheduling, budgeting, creative logistics — and do the same for game production. Think of it as a rehearsal you can run a hundred times before you spend a dollar.

Third — the boring stuff that isn’t boring. Organization. Scheduling. Reminders. The infrastructure of a creative life. I’ve spent thirty years keeping a dozen projects spinning at once. Now I’m building the AI layer that helps manage all of it — not by replacing my judgment, but by making sure nothing falls through the cracks while I’m in the creative zone.

The pattern is always the same: take what I already know how to do, and build the system that lets me do more of it, faster, without losing quality.

That’s not the future of AI. That’s the future of work.

— Ken “Whit” Whitman, filmmaker, game designer, and the guy who taught AI to stop lying."

So.....Kenny is an AI expert who can use AI to build "a 300 page website" but he can't build the website where he tries to sell his expertise? That math doesn't math....

Did you know you can actually search the US Patent and Trademark Office? According to the database search Kenneth Whitman does not have a single Patent, well at least not our Ken Whitman. There is a Kenneth Whitman referenced in two Patents having to do with Irradiation, but even then they aren't the patent "inventors" from the 2002 applications. Also did a search for "Whitman" and "governance framework"...still nothing.

Lastly, if you can use AI to create stuff, and logically a Facebook post is also "creating stuff", you'd think that maybe, just maybe you'd use AI to....I don't know.....get stuff spelled correctly?

2023.12.02 So Where is the Kickstarted Movie Unmortal? It's Only YEARS Late!

So Where is the Kickstarted Movie Unmortal? It's Only YEARS Late!
So it's mid-December 2023 and it's about time to see how our main man Ken(ny) "Whit" Whitman is doing with his film projects.

Why?

Well, his 1st Little Monster's Entertainment Kickstarter project, remember the one that he is definately NOT involved in, despite well...notations on IMDB (writer & director), the Little Monster's Website, and it was actually noted in the Kickstarter video (since removed), that movie was due out in fall of 2021....

.....that was two years ago!

Is Ken Whit Whitman using AI Art?
Does any of this look like AI Art?

Now the short film, which people did pay to have made/see, is listed as a "TV Mini Series" and looks like it's at the bottom of the pile of film projects Kenny's working on. Little Monsters Entertainment has four films listed as "Coming Soon", four more "Currently in Production", four in "Pre-Production", and lastly four listed as "In Development". Unmortal is in the last category.

Wait.....the first movie in the Little Monster's Entertainment lineup, as far as Kickscamming funds (our opinion) go, is at the bottom of the film project list? Well at least there should be some explanation as to why, right?

NOPE!

The latest update was August 21, 2021 and the world was told that the film is "almost at picture lock". That update was from Robert Costner...you know they guy that was listed at CEO for the Unmortal project. That title is now being held by out main man Kenny! "Hey guy's my project is almost done" update from years ago is totally a Ken "Whit" Whitman statement.

All I know is I can count 16 projects listed online and the first one funded is years behind schedule.....pretty sure we've seen this pattern before. Will Mr. Whitman jump ship to a new area to feed off of a new community again?*

*Clearly our opinion, but read up and we think it's a reasonable conclusion to draw.

Some Numbers Just Don't Add Up on Kenny's Latest Kickstarter

Some Numbers Just Don't Add Up on Kenny's Latest Kickstarter
So it shouldn't be a surprise that Ken "Whit" Whitman's Kickstarter, that he's CLEARLY heavily involved in despite assertations to the contrary, has made it's goal since it was only $2500...

......but did it really?

On a whim one of our field researchers decided to do some quick math and add up the number of backers and the "contributions" listed and her numbers didn't quite add up. Not wanting to be made fun of, 'cause maths is fun(!), she went ahead and submitted not only a graphic spelling it out, but a quick excel spreadsheet and it all checks out.

Now, yes......people CAN donate more than the amount shown, but on average more than $10 more than the pledge amounts? Even if that were the case......one of the big donors might have tossed in a handful of Benjamins ($100 bills), but why would the Patron count be short as well? Yeah something doesn't add up at all.

Here are the nine pledge levels:

Unmortal's Nine Pledge Levels

Here is a breakdown with some overlaid simple math:

Unmortal's Numbers

We're literally 9 backers and $511 off between the two counts.....something just seems off, but of course it has since day 1!

Thanks for Playing, but Bugger Off

Thanks for Playing, but Bugger Off
Tenkar's Tavern picked up the same notion that Ken "Whit" Whitman is involved in the Unforgiven Unmortal Kickstarter project. The math is pretty simple and Kenny did insert his fictional company into the trailer......

One thing that the Tavern remarked on were some words shared by someone that inquired, through Kickstarter, about Ken Whitman's involvement in this project. The thing is, this response by Robert Costner tries to diminish Ken Whitman's involvement in the project, but we'd like to ask since when does someone who is just "merely part of the creative team along with several dozen other talented contractors" warrant 3% of a "teaser trailer" to display their fictional company name, albeit at maybe a 85% font size to the Producer's company? Were any other of the "several dozen" contractors named?

Nope?

Well Tenkar's Tavern got permission to forward the response they referenced so we could record it for posterity. We tend to agree it has a bit of an "eff off" vibe, but read it as you may. We don't have the initial inquiry, so there could be an aspect we are unaware of....to be fair.

Creator Response through Kickstarter

"Thank you for reaching out to me. Our company has contracts with many independent companies, actors, and crew members, and we do run background checks on all of our contractors. Mr. Whitman has no legal or criminal activities on his record. During past meetings, he seems very respectful to all that attend. I do know of his past Kickstarter failures and assure you that Mr. Whitman is not involved with our company's business practices and is merely part of the creative team along with several dozen other talented contractors. Once again, thank you for your concern, and have a wonderful day."

Kickscammer Alert! Ken "Whit" Whitman is Involved with ANOTHER Kickstarter Project

Kickscammer Alert! Ken "Whit" Whitman is Involved with ANOTHER Kickstarter Project
In our last post we shared Ken "Whit" Whitman's Facebook post looking for suckers actors for a film project. Now Kenny wants you to help fund his project through Kickstarter.

Of course his name isn't on the Unmortal: Out of Time Kickstarter, but Robert Costner is. This is Robert's 2nd Kickstarter (and 0 backed, for what that's worth) and we posted about that 1st Kickstarter some time ago. Give us a little credit here......."we" did not jump to conclusions that Kenny was involved, "we" just went on his word when he asked folks on Facebook to contribute to the project saying "We have launched a Kickstarter to promote the premier party"

"We" as in, I am involved with this Kickstarter!

Now we haven't seen Whit Whitman's Facebook post looking for money, but we haven't looked yet. What we have looked at so far is the intro video for the Kickstarter and we're seeing the same pattern as we've come to expect from our resident Kickscammer.

Little Monsters Entertainment

1st off, this film is being brought to you by "Post Hoc Productions" in association with "Little Monsters Entertainment" let's do a quick name search with the Kentucky AG:

Post Hoc, much less Post Hoc Productions cannot be found

Hmm......The Kentucky AG has never heard of Post Hoc Productions....and for the record (pun intended) we searched both Washington DC and Maryland for Post Hoc Productions (and even Mr. Costner as an individual in DC) and still nothing, as expected.

Afternoon Edit:
Clearly we were not thorough enough, because "Post Hoc Productions" is a legal business entity in Virginia, with Robert Costner as Director. They also have a bare-bones website.

Now what about Little Monsters Entertainment, you know....the company that is Ken "Whit" Whitman's but not Ken Whit Whitman's? We assume it's his, but he's hiding behind a registered agent.....

Little Monsters Entertainment is inactive and in bad standing, go figure

Well, imagine that......inactive and in bad standing. The very 1st (and only) annual report was returned to the AG's office as "Not Deliverable as Addressed". Most business people know that if you want to keep your license you should probably maintain your mailing address AND file your annual report.

So clearly Little Monsters Entertainment LLC doesn't legally exist.

So we have a crowdfunding attempt by two non-existent companies, one of which is a known front for a serial Kickscammer Ken "Whit" Whitman.

Afternoon addition:

We checked out Ken Whitman's Facebook page and found it interesting that now there is a Kickstarter involved it's not "his" project, but "theirs". Sure, Kenny.....sure it is.

2021.06.15 Unmortal Kickstarter

Also, we feel it is important to note that this fundraising effort is for a short film, but it is also an attempt to segue into a comic and a TV show. Hmm.....Ken Whitman, comic, TV show, Kickstarter....woah, we're having 2014 flashbacks here!

2017.10.23 Looking at Ken "Whit" Whitman Kickstarter Updates (and some ugly math)

2017.10.23 Looking at Ken "Whit" Whitman Kickstarter Updates (and some ugly math)
Yesterday we accidentally read into something that wasn't quite right, but the bigger issue is worth pointing out anyway.

During the wonderful early/late AM exchanges between Ken "Whit" Whitman and Jolly Blackburn we thought we read that Kenny was going to provide an update to all of his Kickstarter Backers.

We can admit when we are wrong because in re-reading this wonderful exchange, we did like Ken "Whit" Whitman did himself and only focused on part of a statement and assumed that the reply applied to what we were focused on and not the other part of the statement.

This Ken "Whit" Whitman Exchange Gave us False Hope
Jolly Blackburn: "oh??? so you are still working on our kickstarters? How about an update on your KS pages to let folks now. I has been 15 months since you've so much as dropped a note there."

Ken "Whit" Whitman: "@ Jolly... Yes"

We thought Kenny was replying that he would post an update on the Kickstarter page(s) informing his backers that he is allegedly still working on their projects....that he took money for.....and didn't produce what was promised.

Now we could have easily just skipped by this because there was no record of our assumptions regarding this post and nobody would have been the wiser....BUT we wanted to look at when was Ken "Whit" Whitman's last Kickstarter updates.

In no particular order:

Ken "Whit" Whitman's Failure with Deck Dice
1) Deck Dice was last updated on July 17, 2016. This means it has been 464 days since the backers for this Kickstarter have been updated.
Ken "Whit" Whitman's Failure with Castles & Crusades

2) Castles & Crusades: Beyond the River was last updated on July 17, 2016. This means it has been 464 days since the backers for this Kickstarter have been updated.

Ken "Whit" Whitman's Failure with Knights of the Dinner Table: Live Action Series
3) Knights of the Dinner Table: Live Action Series was last updated on August 31, 2016. We don't even think that was a real update since the bloopers were not actually from Ken "Whit" Whitman, which would make the July 25th, 2016 "The Harassment Continues" as the last real update? No, we'd count the last real update as July 16, 2016. Doesn't matter because for the sake of this exercise we are going to count the last update as August 31, 2016. This means it has been 418 days since the backers of this Kickstarter have been updated.

Ken "Whit" Whitman's Failure with Pencil Dice
4) Pencil Dice was last updated July 17, 2016. So now it looks like there is a pattern of Ken "Whit" Whitman shotgunning Kickstarter updates, which...without actually reading the content of the updates makes us think they are just simple "I'm allegedly still working on the projects you paid me for". The fact that three of the four so far have been nothing but "new release dates" we think adds credence to our theory.

Nevertheless, it has been 464 days since the backers for this Kickstarter have been updated.

Ken "Whit" Whitman's Failure with RPG Pencil Dice
5) Just more of the same here.....nothing new.

Ken "Whit" Whitman's Failure with Spinward Traveller
6) Thank goodness, some variation here. Spinward Traveller was last updated on September 11, 2016. This means that it has been 407 days since the backers for this Kickstarter have been updated.

What does all this mean? Well, for one it means that Kickstarter backers for Ken "Whit" Whitman have not been updated on ANY progress for well over a year. Regardless of what Ken "Whit" Whitman says elsewhere on the internet, here....were it counts...he has been doing nothing. Zero documentation in over a year combined with zero results in over a year equals zero work having been done on these projects.

Let us not forget how many times Ken "Whit" Whitman has stated that KoDT:LAS has been "90% done" and/or "two weeks away" from completion. According to our quick math Ken "Whit" Whitman should have been able to complete KoDT:LAS 32 times over by now.

Looking at these numbers a different way, Ken "Whit" Whitman is 2,681 days late just updating his backers. That's over 7 years late (combined)! This is just on updates!

Ken "Whit" Whitman has had backers money for a combined 6,494 days (or 17 years, 9 months!):

  1. 1356 days for KoDT:LAS
  2. 1196 days for Spinward Traveller
  3. 1086 days for Castles & Crusades
  4. 968 days for Pencil Dice
  5. 958 days for RPG Pencil Dice
  6. 930 days for Deck Dice
When looking at these figures and dates it is pretty messed up to see that Ken "Whit" Whitman was allowed, by Kikcstarter, to have six (6!) Kickstarters "active" before fulfilling even one. Heck, his last two even overlapped funding periods!

These numbers just boggle the mind.....

2016.12.30 Are We Just Unlucky?

2016.12.30 Are We Just Unlucky?
While looking over an older post from September, we came across this nugget from our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman:

"With a little luck and tenacity, I play to have a finished product by the end of this year. Look for an announcement from FFE in the next few months."

This was in regards to adding an off-book $10 Kickstarter "Upgrade" for the Spinward Traveller KS. No clue who took Ken "Whit" Whitman up on the offer, but either he didn't get enough, or he just pocketed the cash as it appears he is wont to do.

Also, we still want to know if  Far Future Enterprises knows they had their name used in this call for cash back in September.

2017.07.17 A Look at The Recent Updates....

2017.07.17 A Look at The Recent Updates....
We've noticed a bit of a traffic spike in the last 24 hours, undoubtedly because of the number of Kickstarter "updates" that Ken "Whit" Whitman has made across the breadth of his trashed Kickstarter projects.

We've been told, as we don't have backer-level access for the updates given, that Ken "Whit" Whitman pretty much did a fly-by cut & paste update to each of his projects. One update to cover everybody & everything we guess.

Before we even read the update the expectation was yet another, "please be patient...I am working on things and I need more time", along with a little spread of blame for these failed projects on anybody but Ken "Whit" Whitman. As much as we'd love to say this was just being pessimistic, the reality of the situation is that Ken "Whit" Whitman had dipped into this same well of excuses often enough it has become his modus operandi.

A member of the Knights of the Dinner Table public group on Facebook did everyone a solid by posting the update for others to read. We'll provide some commentary like we've done before, creating footnotes like this with our comments at the bottom. We did tweak the group graphic to make it fit the width of the post.

"Dear Backers.

We have set a new release date for August 1, 2017. Of course we hope to get your project to you way before that date, but would rater surprise you then disappoint you again.(1)

Sorry it has taken so long, there have been many sit backs in my life, and there are a few backers that actually follow and harass me online, effecting my ability to make a living and produce this product. Although their actions are highly illegal it it very difficult to enforce laws across state lines without spending money, AND I would prefer to spend said money on this project instead. Some of these harassment include copywrite infringement, libel, slander, contacting employers, contacting loved ones, and even contact my children.(2)

So please, if you have a problem with me, contact me at kenwhitman@kenwhitman.com, OR at least be civilized and use our current court system if you believe I have wronged you in anyway. There are much better ways of handing a situation then cyberstalking, and harassing my loved ones.(3)

I have updated the IMDB page tonight, however it will take a few days to fix itself.

I will update you when I have downloads for you guys.
My sincerest apology for letting you down on the timeline, BUT I am going to finish this project. I have NOT given up and you will see this wonderful project.(4)

If you would like to ask questions about the project below, please feel free to post them. I will most likely only answer questions I feel help clarify information about this project.
Here are some basic ones that will clear up some...

Q. Did you buy a car with KODT money.
A. No.(5)

Q. Did all the actors and crew get paid.
A. It took a bit of time, but yes. (6)

Q. Did you shoot all 3 episodes.
A. Yes.

Q. Why has it taken so long.
A. I tried to produce the product without the knowledge of the true cost of production. Many companies producing 60 mins, of content kickstarter for $300k+. I have been spending my own time and money making-up for the under capitalization. (7)

2017.07.17 Facebook Copy of KS Updates
Q. Did you pay yourself out of Kickstarter Money.
A. Just like any actor or crew, I paid myself for my time producing, directing & editing. Currently to date my average hourly rate come to a little over $3.17 an hour. (8)

Q. Have you been involved an any other Fundraiser sense your trouble her on Kickstarter.
A. No, I decided to work on these projects and will never create another fundraise for any project until my current ones are completed. (9)

Q. Do you currently produce, direct or act in movies.
A. Yes. That is how I make my living.

Q. Have you contemplated suicide because of your finacial situation and personal problems.
A. Yes. If you have ever been cyberstalked, or have dozens of web sites dedicated to your failure, it does get a bit depressing and over whelming. If it we not for the support of a few friends, and the fact I have two wonderful children, I probably would have taken the cowards way out. But they believe in me, so I guess i have no choice but to get this project finished and done with. (10)

Q. How is your relationship with Jolly Blackburn.
A. Bad. Jolly has spent many hours cyberstalking me on line, he continuously post on several of my hate sites & IMDB. Behind close doors he send email telling me I am a piece of $&*^, and yet, I dredge on. Don't get me wrong, I can be a hot head, I'm not saying I did not have a few choice words for Jolly. Buts because I am passionate about creating a good piece of art. (11)

Q. Will we actually see a finished project.
A. Yes."

1) The KoDT:LAS project has been at 90% completion for over a year now. In July of 2015 he was "two weeks away" from completion. The last statement of being at 90% completion was last April. What is realistically going to be accomplished in the next 53 weeks that couldn't have been done in the last 10?

2) With the exception of some folks adding information to the Girl Downtown IMDB page posting screen shots of Ken "Whit" Whitman's own Facebook messaging posts (which he has claimed was someone else spoofing his account) and somebody else posting a cautionary warning on Facebook, we have not come across any online harassment. This website, a few posts on Tenkar's Tavern, and the hasn't-been-updated-in-almost-a-year Don't Fund Ken Whitman page do not constitute "online harassment" in any real legal sense.

When we became aware that children at Ken "Whit" Whitman's daughter's school were using information on NAD to tease Alexandra Whitman, we edited the content and kept an eye on what we released. Even though Alexandra has graduated and should be an "adult", we have simple elected to not post what we considered inappropriate information.

We have also responded to formal requests from Ken "Whit" Whitman's family, addressing their concerns as well.

3) Ken "Whit" Whitman has generally proven himself unavailable for contact. In the past he's noted his phone number is out there for anyone to call, but giving a number that never gets answered is hardly useful. We've been told by Jolly Blackburn that Ken "Whit" Whitman has formally requested that any contact between the two of them be conducted via US Mail, but he's never given Jolly an address. It is also near impossible to expect people to "use our current court system" if they have no clue where to conduct service.

4) This has been said many times, often enough that it has effectively lost any and all meaning to anyone but Ken "Whit" Whitman.

5) There is no way that a man who has claimed to be well under the Federal Poverty Level to have afforded a new vehicle, much less pay off the loan early.

6) Jolly Blackburn, in this NAD Comment, has stated, "But the reality there are people who (last i heard) have still not been paid. The effects guy, the composer for KODTLAS, the guy who did the card art for Dice Deck. Not to mention a former AD who is owed a few k. And those guys are only the ones I know about." That was two weeks ago and we haven't heard any change on this front.

7) In addition to the Kickstarter, Ken "Whit" Whitman has sold an unknown quantity of KoDT:20 Years of Covers books, some of those were even double-sold. He also sold KenzerCo product without informing (or paying) KenzerCo for said product. When there are large parts/expenses of backer rewards that have gone unfilled, we know the expenses have been far lower than they should be and the revenues much higher than the $69,525 raised. "Under capitalization" is not really an appropriate term to use until the full ledger of this project gets opened for review.

8) The figure given is pure conjecture since there doesn't seem to have been any financial control for this project. We believe there was a time he was claiming to have been working on the film 16 hours a day....this figure doesn't mesh with Ken "Whit" Whitman's claims of income for 2014 and 2015.

9) Ken "Whit" Whitman only stopped using Kickstarter when Kickstarter made him stop. We know he already had plans for more Kickstarters by his own admittance, and by Jolly Blackburn's.

10) Nothing but a plea for sympathy. There are, at best, two...two! websites dedicated to Ken "Whit" Whitman's activities, one more that has an occasional post, and a couple more with interviews from Ken "Whit" Whitman. We really don't think many folks want to expend any more effort on him.....

11) We have been in touch with Mr. Blackburn, and while he has admitted to us that he has exchanged some less-than-pleasant-words with Ken "Whit" Whitman, we haven't seen ANYTHING that stoops to Ken "Whit" Whitman's level of abuse. Personally this writer thinks Jolly would have to bash himself in the head with a claw hammer in order to "dumb-down" enough to reach Ken "Whit" Whitman's level. Of course that is purely my opinion on the subject.*

*You aren't the only one with that opinion. -Editor

While we've been quite clear that we don't let Ken "Whit" Whitman post comments here on Not Another Dime anymore, but when he decided to pen a comment directed at us....well I decided that we had to allow it for a couple of reasons that I'll explain.

In researching Ken "Whit" Whitman's history we've uncovered a simple enough pattern where Ken "Whit" Whitman regularly attacks other people with threats of lawsuits. This habit has been mentioned by others several times (example 1, example 2, & example 3).

Since NAD doesn't use post breaks, you won't see the comments unless you specifically click on the post title. Ken "Whit" Whitman's comment: ""using camera equipment purchased from Kickstarter funds (instead of renting it)" What you state is not fact and therefore Lible. Keep up the great reporting, you only make my court case easier :-)"

Ken "Whit" Whitman's Comment

Now I did make sure that this is actually Ken "Whit" Whitman's G+ account, (crowd-funding appeals going back years) because several times he's claimed after the fact that words posted online weren't his. Since we've been deleting his comments to NAD, you'll either have to believe us, or assume this is a lie. We're good either way.

Now I'm not a lawyer, but I'd say that Ken "Whit" Whitman's comment is within a stone's-throw of violating Georgia Code § 51-5-4, which I find amusing as hell because this is the very code that he has been trying to accuse others of violating. Of course this is still the wrong code because both codes (he erroneously used Georgia Code § 16-11-40) refer to slander, not "liable" as he's referred to it.

The fun part is that Ken "Whit" Whitman's comment is pretty much Defamation Per Se, but even if he were extremely explicit with his illegal threat we wouldn't have cause for action because it was communicated to NAD about NAD, and only became a public comment because we allowed it.

Now if Ken "Whit" Whitman were to continue making spoken or printed false comments, specifically stating that others were going to be sued for lible/slander, that in and of itself is against the Georgia Code. A quick check of Georgia Code § 9-15-14 might have a bit of a chilling effect (Litigation costs and attorney's fees assessed for frivolous actions and defenses).

You know, the best defense against a libel or slander charge is, and always has been, the truth. Let's take a look at what we have available.....

Follow up comment by Jolly Blackburn

First and foremost is this comment from Jolly Blackburn: "Exactly right about the camera equipment. When Ken pitched the project his budget indicated he'd be leasing the equipment from a local chiropractor in Kentucky - high end Red cameras. That guy and equipment were used to shoot the KODTLAS kickstarter teaser/video. Nice guy. Imagine my surprise when we showed up at the KODTLAS shoot and Ken has purchased a new computer and all the lights/cameras and other equipment. The kicker? Ken didn't have any money to pay the crew, most of the actors or even my wife. Yet he was tooling around in a new car (he claims it was a dealer loaner now but at the time he told everyone it was his)."

Most of those people wouldn't get paid until 7 to 8 months later with Pencil Dice money. (which Ken admitted).

Anyway, it was disappointing. In my mind that money was supposed to go toward production. Not a start up business."

Now as one of the principles for Kenzer & Company, this particular licensing deal, AND the creator of the underlying characters/series who was present for most everything dealing with this project....well let's just say that somebody is not being truthful. In all fairness we should try to figure out who this is.

KoDT: LAS Update

On January 16, 2014 we got this KoDT:LAS Kickstarter update: "d20 Entertainment has received a donation from a local production studio to help with the cost of filming the Knights of the Dinner Table: Live Action Series. Without the cost of renting high-end movie equipment, we bring you a full- length movie at a more reasonable Kickstart Goal."

OK, so according to Ken "Whit" Whitman the camera equipment being used to shoot KoDT:LAS is being donated, saving some cash because he doesn't have to rent "high-end movie equipment". Mr. Blackburn stated that the equipment was being rented..as of the initial pitch which would have been before the Kickstarter. Sounds great, shaving off funds from a production is probably helpful in many ways.

Last year Ken "Whit" Whitman, when defending himself about purchasing a "new" Cadillac, which was covered here, claims to have spent $6,200 on equipment rental. Instead of pouring through 1,200 comments on Kickstarter, you can reference this post, which is important for the next point as well. So it seems that the equipment that was supposed to be rented was going to be donated, but ended up having to be rented? I guess changes in production happen. This brings us back to a he-said vs. he-said of Jolly Blackburn vs. Ken "Whit" Whitman.......

...BUT we know that Ken "Whit" Whitman has the camera equipment because he's been using it for his new production "company", or is it this production "company"? It is easy to get confused between Atlanta Actors Marketing and the Whit Whitman Film Group, but we do have footage of Ken "Whit" Whitman's equipment, courtesy of Tenkar's Tavern.

So the equipment has to have come from somewhere, right?

According to Ken "Whit" Whitman, he only made $20-$25,000 in 2015 because he put $20K into KoDT:LAS, and he claims to be quite poor, actually below the Federal Poverty level:
"Im afraid you saying it does not make this statement true. You have seen my financials? My tax returns for 2014 are $10,500 and for 2015 are $8,900. Now tell me how I overpaid myself good sir."

Ken "Whit" Whitman Claims to be impoverished

Aside from the conflicting statements as to how much money he made in 2015, Ken "Whit" Whitman states he is living below the poverty level but he still was able to get a "new" car and purchase all of this high-end camera equipment? But according to him the equipment was leased/rented, not purchased. This equipment specifically the computer used for editing digital film doesn't look like the equipment (well at least the HUGE monitor) he still has listed on his Air BnB rental....heck I don't even have a 4K TV (it's listed on the rental). This is just comparing the pics from Air BnB and Tenkar's Tavern.

So, if Ken "Whit" Whitman is impoverished that means he couldn't have purchased the camera/editing equipment, right? But how does he have the equipment? He must have rented it....numerous times now, but with what money? He's already claimed to have spent more money than he's made in the last two years just on one of his Kickstarter projects (KoDT:LAS). Last time I checked, none of the six outstanding Kickstarter projects has been fulfilled.

How could he afford any car, much less a cruise? We'll have to leave this cruise for another time, but we've covered the car.

Looks like the same camera to me
Where did all that Kickstarter money go, or where did the equipment money come from? According to Ken "Whit" Whitman he hadn't profited off of Kickstarter, the projects didn't get all their (individual) Kickstarter funds (i.e. he's admitted to com-mingling project funds) and in fact he put money he didn't have into the projects that haven't been fulfilled.....

...the math just doesn't add up. According to the information provided by Ken "Whit" Whitman himself, there is no legitimate explanation to how he has this camera equipment that has shown up time and time again, starting with the KoDT:LAS filming and most recently the Girl Downtown project.

Now I can't speak for all of the contributors here, but where I come from....it it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is pretty safe to say that you've got a duck. Every shred of information that comes from outside of Ken "Whit" Whitman's claim to have rented this camera equipment belies that claim....the only thing that makes sense is that Ken "Whit" Whitman used KoDT:LAS funds to purchase camera equipment that he has used on subsequent projects.

Just a head's up Kenny.....in a civil court we'd only have to show a "preponderance of the evidence" and while I'm not a lawyer, between these pictures and the fact that your math never seems to add up, I think we'd meet the legal requirements. Of course if you'd like to open you books to prove me/us wrong.......just hand them over to Kenzer & Company.

2016.06.16 Some Good and Some Bad

2016.06.16 Some Good and Some Bad
Today we were informed about a news article on enworld.org entitled "News Digest: Free RPG Day, Saving Throw Charity Marathon, Mergers and Bankruptcies, and Crowdfunding Gone Wrong"

At least one of us had advanced notice on the article, if not the timing. Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman) was listed as a "detailed (if one-sided) account of everything" which is something we don't quite agree with. Yes, this blog is one-sided in the fact that we simply don't let Ken "Whit" Whitman post here.....well, anymore at least. While we only have a couple of writers, there are a lot of folks contributing to the information collection and fact-based content. Over time the sheer volume of information gathered has all but jaded the writers, so impartial we are not.

Personally we embrace the unfortunate fact that we cannot remain unbiased in our coverage in the grade A cluster fuck that is Ken "Whit" Whitman's many errors in judgment, common sense, and adult responsibility. Please, by all means, assume EVERYTHING we've posted here is flat-out false/fake/made-up. Follow the leads and links yourself and read what you can, when you can, and where you can. Use your own judgement and make up your own mind. I doubt there is a single contributor here that would fault you for reading what they've shared with a careful skepticism.

Some of these things simply defy all logic and seem ridiculous, but if you do your own due diligence we're convinced you'll come to the same inevitable conclusions we have.

OK, the good part referenced in this post's title is the extra press about our main man Kenny....er, Ken "Whit" Whitman. The bad part is something that this writer, if not everyone behind NAD, feels we need to take a strong stand on, which is taking the low road when dealing with Ken "Whit" Whitman, as in this example from the Girl Downtown IMDB page:
Ken "Whit" Whitman's Facebook Message Posted to IMDB

You can use your own imagination about what words are covered up here as we aren't going to post them here.

This is too much. Even if you believe Ken "Whit" Whitman is a man of low moral character and an out-right thief /con-man, posting things like this is....well, it is just wrong. Yes, these are Ken "Whit" Whitman's words (as screen-shot from Facebook), but re-posting things like this ends up causing some collateral damage. He wasn't the only person working on Girl Downtown....

Personally, this writer thinks that working with Ken "Whit" Whitman is probably punishment enough. NAD exists to help educate those who which to look up information about Ken "Whit" Whitman, not as an opportunity to unduly harangue the man. Besides this kind of stuff is more in line with how he deals with folks online* and we shouldn't stoop so low.

*We've heard that Ken "Whit" Whitman claims those screenshots are from someone using a fake burner Facebook account, but we've also noted how he's the only one we've met that like to flip through accounts. At least one person has confirmed that this is the standard of behavior from Ken "Whit" Whitman when dealing with folks via Facebook messages.

2016.06.19 Edit:
We've gotten a comment from Ken "Whit" Whitman, which as a matter of principle we will not post, but it was shared internally and I (this editor) believe it was also shared with Jolly Blackburn. The gist of the comment was "I only have two specific accounts" which is clearly BS just based on our observations here at NAD.

2016.06.12 Now We Have to Deal with "Wit" Whitman?!

2016.06.12 Now We Have to Deal with "Wit" Whitman?!
This was pointed out in some comments from the previous post, and it is really too good/funny/sad not to share:

There has been yet another small update to the Girl Downtown GoFundMe page:

"Now on to the Fun Stuff - A List of your Cast and Crew - (The ones who will be Fed by your generous donation) and a Small sample of the Script. "Screen Play Written by Wit Whitman""

"Wit" Whitman, er "Whit" Whitman...I Mean Ken Whitman
"Wit Whitman"?  Now Ken "Whit" Whitman's usual online presences is rife with spelling errors, odd word substitutions, and absurdity not expected from a college graduate. It make you wonder if this is just another spelling error (odd that he'd misspell is own pseudonym...) or an intentional attempt to keep is real name and his nom de plume off of the funding page for Girl Downtown. Either way is mildly amusing.....

...oh, and there is no screen play sample.

2016.06.09 A Quick Word About The GoFundMe Graphic

2016.06.09 A Quick Word About The GoFundMe Graphic
This was brought up by several people on Facebook, but we had to check for ourselves.....

The header image for the gofundme page is a straight up rip-off from The Walking Dead. Our best guess is that it was a promo shot distributed to media sites reporting on The Walking Dead and the Fear The Walking Dead shows.

To test this we went ahead and removed the text in that header and did a simple Google Image Search. That phot was all over the web, but in each case being used to promote the two AMC shows.

Our header graphic, shown above, was probably definitely ripped off from Don'tFundKenWhitman. We've been in touch with them and while nobody remembers getting permission, but then again we aren't trying to make a buck using that graphic. The bloggers there know how to reach us if there is a problem....

2016.06.09 Girl Downtown Filming, and Shilling, Now!

2016.06.09 Girl Downtown Filming, and Shilling, Now!
We were wondering about something in that Facebook post we mentioned minutes ago and it took just a couple of minutes to find what we were looking for.

These days Ken "Whit" Whitman uses other people as the faceman of his crowd-funding efforts since his name is more easily found as a direct connection to scams he has perpetrated in the past (which we will take some small measure of credit for).

This time it appears as he has used his Assistant Director for GIRL DOWNTOWN to be his faceman and GoFundMe as his  crowdfunding source. We notice that Ken "Whit" Whitman's name doesn't appear on this campaign, which is probably a wise choice:
2016.06.09 Girl Downtown Filming, and Shilling, Now!
"Girl Downtown is a Love story with an intense twist.

Set for entry into the 2017 Sundance Festival we are asking for your help to Fund this Film.

We have an Extensive Cast and Crew and Feeding us all for 14 days is our Final Challenge. We have secured all our equipment and locations and are Green light for Filming Beginning June 1-14th 2016. (Just a few Days away) We at Sweat Equity and Grave Road Productions are asking for you..YES YOU to help Donate. -All proceits will go to Feed the Cast and Crew while on production. If you wish you can secure your or your Companies Name in the Credits (IMDB) for recognition.

Now on to the Fun Stuff - A List of your Cast and Crew - (The ones who will be Fed by your generous donation) and a Small sample of the Script.

GIRL DOWNTOWN
~Shooting June 2-5, 7-9, 11-14~"

Now we will freely admit that this could be a legit campaign and Ken "Whit" Whitman's Facebook post is just an attempt to siphon off a portion of the goodwill that these two groups, "Sweat Equity" and "Grave Road Productions" are generating. We'll look into it....

Either way, this doesn't add up.

Smoke Belly Film Meeting
You'll notice how the crew listing on the GoFundMe page doesn't have the director listed. The IMDB page has Ken "Whit" Whitman listed as the Director & Writer. Neither Sweat Equity or Grave Road Productions seem to be legal entities in Georgia (there are several "Sweat Equity" LLCs in GA, most defunct, so there is a chance) but there is a Grave Roads Facebook Page. The earliest, well only, photo of Ken "Whit" Whitman with Grave Road Productions is dated May 10th and held at the restaurant that we know Ken "Whit" Whitman likes.

Our current working theory....well we haven't heard from everyone here at NAD yet....is that Ken "Whit" Whitman reached out to the local film community to get them to work in his project, clearly one he has labeled as a "gift" for his daughter, and is using the situation to try and collect more funds. Ken "Whit" Whitman clearly claims this as his film and the crowdfunding page is conveniently leaving his name off of the project. Not listing your Director or the Writer on a film project is kind of a big deal.....those name usually pop-up real early in the credits....with large bold-face fonts.
