Today we figured we'd take a quick look to see where Ken "Whit" Whitman was with the Unmortal film project....you know, the 10' "
TV Short Film" that filmed over a year ago that hasn't had an update (
on Kickstarter) in 14 months.....
...IMDB is silent on the film as well....hmm....I wonder where we could find some information on the film?
Oh, yeah! What about the Little Monsters Entertainment website! Hmmmmm....that film is NOT listed on the website and if you do a search for "unmortal".....
So the producer doesn't bother even listing the film allegedly still in "pre-production"? That's not fishy....
.....wait a second, why is there a bunch of prices on this search page?
Oh, Kenny is selling roles in a film......color us not surprised:
Description
Workshop: 1 day
Character age: 18+ Filming

• Acting classes and coaching during your time on set.
• A Demo Reel from the movie.
• IMDB Actors.
• A contract will be provided to participate in the ProAm Workshop. Sent after the purchase of the $299.00 non-refundable deposit.
Now these roles are not available as the date has already passed, which hasn't stopped Kenny in the past, so at least this is a bit of an improvement.
What we find the most disturbing is the fact that at the bottom of every page of the Little Monsters Entertainment website is this listing of all the ways they are more than happy to take your money. Maybe this is just us, but you don't find this on the likes of Paramount, Warner Brothers, MGM.....
.....hmmmmmm we just checked, not even Amazon lists their payment methods on the home page, much less every page.
We wondered a couple posts back what ol' Kenny was up to, looks like using film to fleece people is definitely it, at least based on his success rate of his film projects coming to fruition....and that you can pay for him to fleece you!*
Hey, at least THIS TIME, Ken "Whit" Whitman actually filed for a KY Business license! Oh, an by the way...we see what you did there Kenny. Little Monsters Entertainment was defunct, but simply dropping the "s" so you can kind of keep the same company, kind of.....
*Technically this is an opinion, but we think it's an informed opinion with, what...maybe a 20% completion rate (we're going off of Kickstarter funding)?
So.. you pay the company making the film to be in the film? short of a crowdfunding perk (which you get more besides) this is NOT something any serious actor/wanna actor should do. It's a well known and reported on con-job. While some places do it in a 'you pay XXX amount to join a club where jobs get posted', even that is looked down on by alot of the industry. Of course, the fact it's a no-namer doing it and it would be unlikely to be released for anyone to see it, is probebly also a problem.. notice how... wait.. the non-refundable deposit is the full price? a non-refundable deposit should always ONLY be a small percentage of the total price.. this gets worse the more you look at it..
