A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. (Editor's Note: After years of this documentation, we simply cannot be anything BUT "con" when it comes to Mr. Whitman)

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of the event being documented in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. If the event being recorded happened on March 15th, 2015 and today's date was August 8th, 2018 the beginning of the post's title would be 2015.03.15 and not 2018.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

2021.06.16 Our Mental Math Just Does NOT Add Up!

2021.06.16 Our Mental Math Just Does NOT Add Up!
OK, so let's have a brief review of the latest Ken "Whit" Whitman news:

  • There's currently a Kickstarter for a film project that is hoping to lead to a comic book, a TV series, and even a role-playing game that technically doesn't have Ken Whitman's name on it anywhere, despite the fact that Whit Whitman has a history with not only RPGs, but running Kickstarters for short film projects that are intended to turn into a TV series, and his first such Kickstarter originated from a comic book.
  • Ken "Whit" Whitman is NOT listed on the film project's IMDB page at all, BUT his fictitious company has second billing in the project's "teaser trailer".
  • The point man for this Kickstarter and film project, one Robert Costner, was asked about Ken Whitman's involvement and the response can be summed up/paraphrased as, "I'm aware of Ken Whitman's past, but he hasn't been charged with a crime and he's just one of a dozen creators in the background." Of course you can dispute the summation, but read the response for yourself.

1 of 3 Call Board Casting Calls (the nicest one)
Now this writer cannot help but to notice that the mental math simply does not add up. If Ken "Whit" Whitman was just some minor player then why does his fake company get 2nd billing? Why is he putting out the Casting Call to find actors? Now I do not know squat about filming, but I highly suspect that finding the right actors for a film project is not a minor role in the process (pun intended). NAD already referenced Kenny's Casting Call on Facebook, but one of our readers pointed us out to the same call on Call Board:

Oh yeah, we forgot to mention that Kenny tried to "double-dip" and made a second Casting Call for the same project.....

We're sorry.....triple-dipped.

Coincidence that Kenny Logged into Kickstarter? We think not.
On a side note, since there was the Kickstarter that Ken "Whit" Whitman is allegedly NOT involved in, kind of surprising that for a guy known to take months, if not years off of the platform....that he chooses that Kickstarter's Kick-Off Day to finally log back in....

...that isn't suspicious at all!
