Just a head's up that there are other people named Ken Whitman that are 110% not our Ken Whitman. Unfortunately at least one Ken Whitman works in the "games industry", just not the table-top role playing games industry that was our Ken "Whit" Whitman's preferred hunting grounds.
Got this message last week:
"I just saw a page for GDC that a ken whitman was a speaker in March 2022 and is a lead designer for 8 bit games and working on a star wars game. His bio says he is a veteran of the rpg industry for 23 years."
Take a good look here folks.....this is NOT OUR GUY. Now We do not know this Ken Whitman, but clearly we know someone who knows someone who knows him. This Ken Whitman works in the video game industry and probably hates this blog almost as much as our Ken Whitman does.
If you found Not Another Dime (for Ken Whitman) looking for background on the video game guy, you are on the wrong website. Your guy has nothing to do with our guy!
Our guy? Well he has spent a lot of time and effort separating himself from his soiled past and part of that effort is to try and change from scamming the RPG industry/hobby to scamming the film industry. 'Ol Kenny has changed his name a bit and tries to go by Whit Whitman, which is why we have to refer to him as Ken "Whit" Whitman, so the search algorithms can hopefully keep pace.
This is his Linked In profile:
Now we greatly appreciate the heads-up about Ken Whitman even though it was the wrong Ken Whitman. Now that we know this other guy is "out there" and in the "games industry", we can do what we can to ensure that we tailor our messages appropriately in order to minimize the impact to him. Unfortunately a quick google search on his name will bring up this blog, hopefully near the top at the first page. Our desire to educate the public and make it as difficult as possible for Ken "Whit" Whitman to run his scams means we need those top spots.
