It's been more than two months since Ken "Whit" Whitman announced "I am waiting on pencils coming from china, this will take 45 days. 10-15 to print the colors, and 25 days to ship." As of the timing of this post it's been 71 days since Kenny enlightened us with his updated (again) timeline.
So....45 days +10 to 15 gets us to 60, which means that Kenny should be in the middle of shipping out the pencils.
Ken "Whit" Whitman has repeatedly.....REPEATEDLY demonstrated his willingness to share, we'd say overshare, his efforts on social media. Since that August 20th update, across several Kickstarters, there have been no posts showing pictures of his shiny new pencils, no posts calling his disgruntled backers "losers", or really much anything of significance.
Now to be fair each of the Pencil Dice Kickstarters have one update each, but even then they don't share the update, which doesn't make much sense. Why would the RPG Pencil Dice backers get a "Moving Right Along" update (September 11th), but not the larger Pencil Dice backers? If the pencils arrived at the beginning of October, why would the Pencil Dice backers get informed (October 2nd), but no word sent out to the RPG Pencil Dice backers?
This really doesn't add up. Now if Ken "Whit" Whitman actually did get the pencils on October 2nd, he should be halfway through shipment......HALFWAY. The most recent comments from backers are from October 2nd (Pencil Dice) and 2 months ago (RPG Pencil Dice)....if shipping is halfway through somebody......ANYBODY should have received pencils by now....
.....and Kenny would be crowing about it for certain. At a minimum he should be posting some pics as promised "PS- I will send pictures when the pencils get here."

A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose
Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. (Editor's Note: After years of this documentation, we simply cannot be anything BUT "con" when it comes to Mr. Whitman)
Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.
Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.
Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of the event being documented in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. If the event being recorded happened on March 15th, 2015 and today's date was August 8th, 2018 the beginning of the post's title would be 2015.03.15 and not 2018.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.
Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

The weight of evidence on inaction is overwhelming. Some collective legal action is necessary to keep him from harming others.
ReplyDeleteWe are nothing but silly gamers, but he extended his reach to the Atlanta acting community. Did they ever get the video portfolios that they paid for? Any hard confirmation on that?
We should ask around what the processing time for commercial pencil customizers is. Ken Whitman's approach to handle it all himself (when there is no need) to give it the "gamer touch" is noble, but so far the "gamer touch" seems to amount to sitting on the money for three years, if indeed the money is still there.
