While browsing around today, just doing some normal checkups, we stumbled upon a possible lead on some more Ken "Whit" Whitman Kickstarter buffoonery, or maybe it's just nothing at all.
On the Castles & Crusades: Beyond the River comments section (specifically here) one "Jon B, manager, Emporia of Valoria" stated: "I agree that some of the tactics used "against" you were over the top, but you have several aliases on Kickstarter (Pioneer Games for one) and a number of unfulfilled campaigns with zero communication for periods of years, and you moved out to another state. What did you think would happen?" (emphasis ours)
Now this could be anything from a baseless accusation to 110% bonafide buffoonery and well....we'd like to know. There is but one Pioneer Games Kickstarter listed and it looks to be fake as hell. The text doesn't match the stats "A keen boardgamer who has backed over 25 projects", but 0 showing....
There is one suspended Kickstarter for Pioneer Games and that is for The Royal Game of Ur.
The video is stolen straight off of YouTube and the pictures from the British Museum. Not a lot of writing, but definite "Kenny"-style spelling errors, like "pemium" and the inability to spell-out the word "drawer", instead calling it a "draw".
NAD would like to investigate this a bit further, and a HUGE help would be to get in touch with Jon B. If you know Jon B. and could direct him our way.......we'd love to be able to either add this to the list or clear Kenny's name (for this, and only this, scam/game).
