A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. (Editor's Note: After years of this documentation, we simply cannot be anything BUT "con" when it comes to Mr. Whitman)

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of the event being documented in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. If the event being recorded happened on March 15th, 2015 and today's date was August 8th, 2018 the beginning of the post's title would be 2015.03.15 and not 2018.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

2015.07.11 Spinward Traveller Has a Release Date?!

2015.07.11 Spinward Traveller Has a Release Date?!
Today I was doing some link hopping and I came across this unexpected gem.

Did you know that Ken "Whit" Whitman has put out a hard date for the Spinward Traveller movie release? I didn't. A quick glance at the Kickstarter comments makes me think none of the backers have been given the release date either.

Now of course Ken "Whit" Whitman has given many release dates for products, backer rewards, and movies outside of this one Kickstarter, but usually these dates just involve Ken "Whit" Whitman "kicking the can" down the line some.......I'd characterize those given dates as just his attempt to shut up his backers for a time so he has some "breathing room" to come up with another scheme.

Of course, don't take my word for it.....read Ken Whitman's words for yourself.

Ken Whitman slates Spinward Traveller for a 2023 release date!
I think this new release date for the Traveller Kickstarter is a bit more than "breathing room", as the new release date is..... get this.... December 31, 2023.

I can't make this stuff up if I tried! Ken "Whit" Whitman has given himself a 19 year extension on this project! Even with his tendency to screw up spelling and grammar I can't see any possible way that "2014" can easily become "2023".

Read the release dates note for yourself!

  1. Maybe Kenny thinks we'll all forget about this by then.

  2. Note ... anyone can edit an IMDB page not just the creator. December 31, 2023 is the farthest date out someone can put in the IMDB database currently for a release date. Most likely done by someone trying to point out the movie is vaporware since you cannot list a film as not released for the release date.

  3. Far Future Enterprises sends out a monthly update to customers and friends via the Citizens of the Imperium mailing list
Marc Miller's (FFE) December 5, 2015 update (email to customers and supporters) stated that the film/ pilot would be out sometime in mid 2016. The February 2, 2016 update from Far Future does not even mention "Spinward Traveller" as being an upcoming product or even a past product. There are some cool books coming out, though.
