A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. (Editor's Note: After years of this documentation, we simply cannot be anything BUT "con" when it comes to Mr. Whitman)

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of the event being documented in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. If the event being recorded happened on March 15th, 2015 and today's date was August 8th, 2018 the beginning of the post's title would be 2015.03.15 and not 2018.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

2016.01.19 Ken Whitman Crosses the Line Yet Again

2016.01.19 Ken Whitman Crosses the Line Yet Again
Today I've gotten more comments for this blog than usual and I don't see a good reason to simply cross-post everything from Tenkar's Tavern, since you can just go there and read it all yourself.

I will have to add one thing to the "Ken Sez" page, but I want to add something personal here, hence this post.

I've been privileged to have met the Blackburns once or twice over the years and my personal opinion is that Barbara Blackburn is one of the sweetest and nicest people I have ever met. I've read some other folk's first-hand accounts of Barbara and they seem to jive with my opinion. Hell, go read Barb's Open Letter to Ken Whitman for yourself. Make up your own mind about the woman, I highly doubt your opinion will vary much from mine.

Forgive me for this analogy, but I think Bill Murray said it best, "I’m suspicious of people who don’t like dogs, but I trust a dog when it doesn’t like a person." Now obviously Barbara Blackburn isn't a dog, nor should you think I'm imply that, just if you can get Barb upset enough to curse, I think that says a helluva lot more about you than it does her.

"Nope, I would tell the real story of how stupid I was for trusting you without a contract. And how I spent 15k on hiring employees and infastructure to do KODT audio books only for you to say no after I told you I would not work with your wife after she cursed at me." -Ken Whitman

I know too well from 1st hand experience that people can fight and say stupid hurtful things to each other, but even then, there are some things that are always wrong. This tidbit from Jolly (still part of the comments from Tenkar's Tavern).....it's a mic drop for me.

"He's said hurtful things about my dead daughter to me. So why not attack my wife."

Seriously?! Even if you think Barbara Blackburn is a bad person, and she cursed you out, "saying hurtful things" about her deceased daughter.....crosses the line. I can't even begin to think of anything lower than that.
