"This project has apparently failed to get to completion for lack of funds, and perhaps for other reasons. It was a great idea, and a lot of people put into it a great deal of effort. If someday, the files and editing skill emerge, we may still see it on the small screen."
The sad part it was we weren't sure which Kickstarter project Kenny was referring to, although Spinward Traveller was the most likely suspect.
It looks like Ken "Whit" Whitman was trying to send a direct message on his Twitter account and accidentally sent this out instead.
This morning we're treated to the news that this same message was posted on the Spinward Traveller Facebook page Thursday.....
In Case Kenny Deletes the FB Post |
It doesn't take much to see that as of the time of this post Ken "Whit" Whitman couldn't be bothered to post this where his 827 backers who pledged $49,588 could see it. It looks like Kenny did log in to Kickstarter last week, but did he update any of his Kickstarters?
In short: No
Not really surprising, but Ken "Whit" Whitman has the time to not only update one social media platform, but two.....and he doesn't even contact the backers on Kickstarter?
So what we have is Ken "Whit" Whitman claiming that Spinward Traveller will not be done.....can not be done, due to a lack of funds and "perhaps other reasons". Of course he backhandedly admits that the film itself is missing, "If someday, the files and editing skill emerge, we may still see it on the small screen."...and evidently that he doesn't have the skills to work on the project even if he had the files.
Yeah....lack of funds is the problem here....
Our 100% made up speculation is that Kenny is trying to kick his obligations to the curb and set his backers expectations so when he gets his payday he doesn't have to shell out any of his new money to his old scams.
On the Spinward Traveller Facebook presence ("movie studio"), I asked who the poster was, and he said, "one of the backers, a person who wanted more but it didn't quite work out. Sad for the fans, backers, actors, and future Traveller fans." So has the shame and guilt driven Kenny to be a split-personality, like in the movie PSYCHO?
ReplyDeleteWe should connect Kenny to the sadness of a prison-cell, to keep him from exploiting any other human.
