We've gotten several reports here regarding our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman using his KoDT:LAS-funded equipment to shoot another film. A film that evidently takes precedence over the two unfinished films Ken "Whit" Whitman already took in hundreds of thousands of dollars for*.
We are also getting reports that Ken "Whit" Whitman is teaming up with Ed Kramer, but at this point these are un-substantiated rumors. We'll do some digging and if anything of substance pops up, we'll let you know!
Certainly some folks are popping over to NAD for info and we'll put out what we can when we can. Until then, here are some great tidbits from the IMDB page for Ken "Whit" Whitman's upcoming project called "Girl Downtown". Evidently IMDB is more of a specialized wikipedia site that allows outside editing because some folks have certainly edited the hell out of the page:
"How a movie creator have embezzled thousands of people on Kickstarter to afford making a movie. Shame on you"
"Storyline
There is a man with a secret identity, man who constantly reneges on business ventures, failing to deliver on Kickstarter after Kickstarter. Some call him Ken Whitman. Ken takes the equipment that he bought with the Kickstarter money then uses that money and equipment to make low budget movies. Will the cast get paid? Will he film a movie about "Pencil Dice", and the lost cargo ship? Could he make enough money to mail the hard drive with raw footage from "KODT:LAS" to the IP owner? Will the cast and crew learn the fate of the legendary "Traveller" series?"
This is a screen shot of a link sent to us regarding Ken "Whit" Whitman's new production company called "Whit Whitman Film Group"
We've checked with the Georgia Secretary of State's Business Search and there is no listing for our Ken "Whit" Whitman, Ed Kramer (at least having to do with films), or Whit Whitman Film Group. Really not surprising since our Ken "Whit" Whitman doesn't like the hassle of working within the legal confines of business anyway....
*About $100K just from Kickstarter, but don't forget the HUGE sale(s) off-book of ancillary items related to these movie projects.
I would think that someone would put links to the failed Kickstarters on the IMDB pages for Spinward Traveller and Kodt.
ReplyDeleteYou know - so people would know the truth about Mr. Whitman.
They've fixed the IMDB description by removing it. And the plot summary.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long before someone else updates it again ...
