2015.09.22 Ken Whitman is on the Kentucky Attorney General's Radar (?)

I'm sure that news of Ken Whitman's Kickstarter scams would eventually land on the desk of him home state's Attorney General. Earlier this week word from one of the Pencil Dice backers, Shea Antoinette, was..."Received a letter from the Kentucky attorney general (Jack Conway) saying a letter of complaint was sent to Ken about his fraudulent business practices and that he has a month to respond."

Adding this to the fact that Washington State has sued a KickScammer and word that the FTC is starting to go after "Crowdfunding Scams", and I think we have an environment that might be getting a little hot for Ken Whitman.....but I'm not certain that any heat is going to come from Kentucky.....

I've been sitting on this one piece of info sent to me, mostly because it seemed (to me) that the Kentucky Attorney General's Office doesn't really care too much about Ken Whitman, allowing him to lie and scam with impunity within their state.

"We have provided the business with a copy of your complaint and have requested that they work with you in order to reach a satisfactory settlement. We allow the business one month in which to respond to your complaint."

I was asked to obscure the identifying details, but it's been well over a month since this piece of info arrive here and I have been in regular touch with this particular screwed-over backer and there has been no added response from either Ken Whitman or the Kentucky AG.

I think Shea Antoinette got the same form letter. If you need to file a complaint, I suggest you use the Feds. There is some information on how to do so in this post. I also suggest you file with your state's Attorney General office, because I doubt Kentucky's is going to do too much.
