A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. (Editor's Note: After years of this documentation, we simply cannot be anything BUT "con" when it comes to Mr. Whitman)

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of the event being documented in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. If the event being recorded happened on March 15th, 2015 and today's date was August 8th, 2018 the beginning of the post's title would be 2015.03.15 and not 2018.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

2017.02.26 Ken "Whit" Whitman Still Kicking the Can Down the Road

2017.02.26 Ken "Whit" Whitman Still kicking the Can Down the Road
We here at Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman) have problems recalling just how many times Ken "Whit" Whitman has put off/extended the deadline for his 1st failed Kickstarter that was the Knights of the Dinner Table: Live Action Series.

For a project that was due in August of 2015 and has been stated (multiple times) as being 90% done and/or "two weeks away", extending the time-frame out a year last August really feels like a ploy. By "kicking the can down the road" it feels like Ken "Whit" Whitman is simply trying to buy some time.....time from backers or maybe even time from prosecution.

The thing is even if...and this is a big if, Ken "Whit" Whitman does manage to produce the completed KoDT:LAS product, he will still far far short of what was promised to backers as we've gotten word that he won't have the promised Elmore posters (doesn't have the legal rights to the artwork), it's too late to produce that "premier party" at GenCon 2015, and let's not even open the can of worms that was the KoDT: 20 Years of Covers book.

We were pretty surprised to see this Facebook update:
"KODT: LAS End Credit Outtakes. Still on schedule for Aug 1, 2017."

Our money is that this means the end credit outtakes will be ready on August 1st. Our sources have told us there have been several offers to finish the editing and even some distribution, for the fans, providing that Ken "Whit" Whitman hands over the footage.

Speculation is that the footage is lost or corrupted, which means that any schedule for release is meaningless.

It is interesting that Ken "Whit" Whitman has updated the Kickstarter for KoDT:LAS

"If you missed out on the KODT: Live Action Series, don't worry, log on to our website... http://www.d20entertainment.com"

Of course the URL goes to a 403 Error page, which also notes there is a 404 Error as well......
Failed attempt to get more KoDT:LAS money.....

We did also notice that less than an hour ago there is a new FB Group for "Knight of the Dinner Table Live action Series". Ken "Whit" Whitman cannot even spell the name of the group right, but that may be intentional to differentiate it from other, we assume legitimate, Facebook groups.

  1. I don't believe the d20entertainment link is a recent update, if I recall correctly it's been here for quite a while, probably years. Unless I missed something, the d20 website has been down since the 2015 Cyber Monday pay-for-nothing scam, so Ken wouldn't have much to gain by linking to it.

  2. Now that Ken is back in KY, I think I need to take a daytrip over there and actually file paperwork to take him to small claims court for the @125.00 refund (plus court costs) he promised me.

As I have documentation of Ken promising to pay me the refund (a year and a half ago), I'm pretty sure they would rule in my favor.

    1. You should certainly pass on the outcome of that to NotAnotherDime. It would be valuable to establish precedent in class actions for exactly the same things.

  3. I posted a comment on the "Knight" page observing that it wasn't created by the legitimate owners of the Knights franchise given the misspelling and asking why waste time on creating fb pages instead of spending time finishing the projects kickstarter backers already for and have been waiting on for years now. I noticed the comments had to be approved by the page's creator, Ken, so I doubt he'll allow anything critical of his scams.
