A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character. (Editor's Note: After years of this documentation, we simply cannot be anything BUT "con" when it comes to Mr. Whitman)

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of the event being documented in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. If the event being recorded happened on March 15th, 2015 and today's date was August 8th, 2018 the beginning of the post's title would be 2015.03.15 and not 2018.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

2016.06.16 Some Good and Some Bad

2016.06.16 Some Good and Some Bad
Today we were informed about a news article on enworld.org entitled "News Digest: Free RPG Day, Saving Throw Charity Marathon, Mergers and Bankruptcies, and Crowdfunding Gone Wrong"

At least one of us had advanced notice on the article, if not the timing. Not Another Dime (For Ken Whitman) was listed as a "detailed (if one-sided) account of everything" which is something we don't quite agree with. Yes, this blog is one-sided in the fact that we simply don't let Ken "Whit" Whitman post here.....well, anymore at least. While we only have a couple of writers, there are a lot of folks contributing to the information collection and fact-based content. Over time the sheer volume of information gathered has all but jaded the writers, so impartial we are not.

Personally we embrace the unfortunate fact that we cannot remain unbiased in our coverage in the grade A cluster fuck that is Ken "Whit" Whitman's many errors in judgment, common sense, and adult responsibility. Please, by all means, assume EVERYTHING we've posted here is flat-out false/fake/made-up. Follow the leads and links yourself and read what you can, when you can, and where you can. Use your own judgement and make up your own mind. I doubt there is a single contributor here that would fault you for reading what they've shared with a careful skepticism.

Some of these things simply defy all logic and seem ridiculous, but if you do your own due diligence we're convinced you'll come to the same inevitable conclusions we have.

OK, the good part referenced in this post's title is the extra press about our main man Kenny....er, Ken "Whit" Whitman. The bad part is something that this writer, if not everyone behind NAD, feels we need to take a strong stand on, which is taking the low road when dealing with Ken "Whit" Whitman, as in this example from the Girl Downtown IMDB page:
Ken "Whit" Whitman's Facebook Message Posted to IMDB

You can use your own imagination about what words are covered up here as we aren't going to post them here.

This is too much. Even if you believe Ken "Whit" Whitman is a man of low moral character and an out-right thief /con-man, posting things like this is....well, it is just wrong. Yes, these are Ken "Whit" Whitman's words (as screen-shot from Facebook), but re-posting things like this ends up causing some collateral damage. He wasn't the only person working on Girl Downtown....

Personally, this writer thinks that working with Ken "Whit" Whitman is probably punishment enough. NAD exists to help educate those who which to look up information about Ken "Whit" Whitman, not as an opportunity to unduly harangue the man. Besides this kind of stuff is more in line with how he deals with folks online* and we shouldn't stoop so low.

*We've heard that Ken "Whit" Whitman claims those screenshots are from someone using a fake burner Facebook account, but we've also noted how he's the only one we've met that like to flip through accounts. At least one person has confirmed that this is the standard of behavior from Ken "Whit" Whitman when dealing with folks via Facebook messages.

2016.06.19 Edit:
We've gotten a comment from Ken "Whit" Whitman, which as a matter of principle we will not post, but it was shared internally and I (this editor) believe it was also shared with Jolly Blackburn. The gist of the comment was "I only have two specific accounts" which is clearly BS just based on our observations here at NAD.

  1. Also, look at the spelling. That has "Ken Grammar" all over it. Out of 5 sentences, 3 of them have misspelled words, simple words. What an idot.

  2. The problem with being labeled as "one-sided" or "biased" against the poor victim Ken Whitman is that we supporters backed up our faith in Ken Whitman with our livelihood (not beer money or loose change). He promptly labeled us as enemies, "stockers" and "bullies" who were "organizing" together to "destroy him." To me he has become a perfectly self-interested individual who has no interest in acknowledging his one-time ardent fans. NAD is not biased for documenting Ken Whitman's communications, actions and interactions with his supporters. NAD is one of the few resources open to supporters who sank cash into these projects. I really really like the community over at ENWorld. Good guys/ladies.

  4. I actually had to block him *twice* on Facebook - so, yes, he *absolutely* uses multiple Facebook accounts to harass and harangue people.

    1. oh yeah. And he's blocked ME on at least 4 different FB accounts. He gets them confused in fact.

  5. One thing that's certainly true is that most people who passionately dislike the guy were once supporters or someone who believed in him and were taken advantage of. That sort of happens when you play up to people to win them over and they behave as though they don't count.

  6. For my own interest,
I counted two "specific" pages for"Ken Whitman," two for his current "Whit Whitman" alias and at least three for sock puppet identities that are obviously his. So, more than 8 (right now).

Seems, he's still making additional accounts even as he is claiming otherwise.

    2. Looks like 2. and 4. above are the same account.

This looks like Kenny's newest one:

  8. Like travelling snake oil salesman. Pack up and flee town for a new one when the heat is on. Only it's hard to do that with social media.

  9. So, Kenny has still not refunded my money, even after he said he would six months ago. (Hi, Kenny! Here's my online name - the one you ominously warned me that you knew about. Duh.)

He has also insinuated that my only chances of getting my money back is to pursue legal recourse. Yes, Kenny - great businessman that he is - has decided that he'd rather me sue him than refund my money.

So, I have decided to do that.

Of course, its difficult to sue someone when you don't know where they are. I have asked Kenny for a mailing address many times, and he - of course - refuses to do so. So much for 'hiding in plain sight.'

I wonder what the legal issues of crown-funding a project to hire an Atlanta-based private investigator to find Kenny's address would be. I need to talk to my lawyer friend about this.

    1. It makes me very sad that we (supporters) have to take care of this guy's behavior. I paid my money, provided positive encouragement and even encouraged other supporters. The Spinward Traveller rewards (scripts, DVDs, updates, posters and artwork) are now 2 years late and all we get are legal threats (for trying to destroy him/libel him/be mean to him, whatever he comes up with). Ken "Whit" Whitman is 2 years late in fulfilling any of his promises.

  10. If someone started a legitimate GoFundMe to raise money to hire a PI who would make sure he found Ken AND (this AND is important) made sure that he was served with all paperwork waiting for him from Jolly and anyone else that contacts him). I'd give money to that.

  11. Ken Whitman.

You are a liar, a fraud, and a scam artist.

Hit me up with a message on Kickstarter, and I'll tell you where to send the lawsuit. Please bear in mind, I have no connection to any US court, so they have no Jurisdiction over me. I'll be more than happy to see you in the Glasgow Sherrif Court however.

Remember though, you have to prove my statements are demonstratably false. Good luck with that.
