A Brief Introduction to this Page's Purpose

Not Another Dime! is dedicated to documenting the assorted, and sometimes wild, details of Mr. Ken Whitman's business dealings within the Role Playing Game (RPG) industry. This place is NOT intended to be a medium of discussion about Mr. Whitman, pro or con, but instead be a "jumping off" point to enable the reader to make their own informed decision about Mr. Whitman's history and business character.

Whenever possible, links to the original source material will be provided, but in many cases that information may have been deleted or secured behind restricted-access (like a private Facebook page) accounts.

Anything posted here is the opinion of the retrospective author and any content shown is to be considered "fair use" and posted for educational purposes only.

Note to authors: Please begin each post with the original date of creation in the format of YYYY.MM.DD (i.e. 2015.08.08) so readers can use the Chronology page to find specific information. Please use appropriate tags when possible for the same reason.

Note to contributors: If you have some valid data to send, screenshots, links to other Ken Whitman stories, etc., please feel free to send a gmail to notanotherdimeblog. We'll look into it and post if appropriate.

2016.04.15 "Savior" Ken "Whit" Whitman Attempting to Cross-Over to a New Fandom...

2016.04.15 "Savior" Ken "Whit" Whitman Attempting to Cross-Over to a New Fandom...
Well, well.......we'll have to file this somewhere between "WTF?!" and "called it" on behalf of Jolly Blackburn.

Our main man Ken "Whit" Whitman hasn't wasted any time trying to parley his meager role as a Walking Dead extra into something bigger.

This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day and is also Retro Mega Comic Con in Savannah, GA. Now there isn't that much info on the website, well at least info we want, but the Facebook page has quite a bit......

Thanks to Anthony Swartz for the 411 (emphasis ours):

  1. One week after saying "for sure, I'll be finished this summer," he's still doing this stuff.
If he is "90% finished" with the projects and being forced to work a real job, how does he have time for this stuff?

How much kickstarter money was used to pay for this write-up? Reading the ad, I can see that he did not write it (there are fully formed sentences and words with more than one syllable). I am disappointed.

  2. I did file a complaint, last week, with the MD Attorney General's office. It included a whole lot of printed webpages and screen shots. That update was the last straw for me, now hearing he is getting paid to sit in front paying people just pisses me off.

  3. Whit Whitman... heh. Guy screwed up so bad he had to change his name to hopefully avoid being connected to google searches on his name.

  4. Informing the organizers (Retromegacon@gmail.com) about their poor choice of a celebrity guest was proper recourse. In my opinion, an all-ages show should not be allowing Ken "Whit" Whitman through its doors. Never forget http://www.tenkarstavern.com/2016/03/ken-whitman-facebook-conversation-with.html

  5. I'm probably throwing this comment into the void, since the last comment was 4 days ago, but realize that this convention PROBABLY didn't pay him anything. They might toss him gas money or take him out to a meal. Maybe.

Now, they're giving him a platform, and that's certainly bad enough. Maybe he'll try to sell some photos or autographs.

But we've all seen these guests before at small conventions. People you've never heard of who sit at a table with a stack of headshots acting like they're something they're not.

Odds are really good that this convention will be a net loss, financially, for Ken.
